Why do England struggle to produce undisputedly great players?

Compared to which country are you basing that on.

As a country though I don't know any other that competes in as many sports as England maybe apart from the US which have their own collection of sports, especially when compared to other European countries like Germany or France.
Think this is, and always has been, a total myth IMHO.

England takes pride in poaching players from countries like Ireland, The Netherlands, Scotland.... and South Africa.

Rather than showing some faith in the young kids playing in their own country, they want to go out there and get a quick steal, devaluing their own cap and become a joke for the rest of the world to laugh on.
The last Scottish person to play Test cricket for England ended up with the stunning batting average of 0.00.

And if we're bemoaning people poaching players from Scotland, then Australia and South Africa have historically been far worse for it than England.

Why do say that? if we take Germany for example they obviously have football as their main sport and they have guys in motorsports, athletics, swimming and a few others but surely compared to England they play less sports across the board.

TBH, I think we feel this because we're deeply ingrained in our sporting culture, I'm sure if you lived in Germany and other countries, you'd see sports that we care little for giving greater prominence. I think they're much more interested in the Winter Olympics, American Sports, invading Poland and Handball, then we are for instance.

Tbf we've got our own Ice Hockey & American Football leagues and we compete in most Winter Olympic sports even if we're crap at them for the most. It was generally a comment brought about simply because I can't think of too many sports Germany or other European countries play that we don't but I can think of a few that we do and they don't, maybe like you say if I lived in those Countries there maybe a few I haven't thought of.

Well there's competing and there's competing, Germany have a rugby Union team, and Italy a cricket team. That's the level we're at in competitiveness with some of these sports, they take seriously.

Yet he still gets a decent amount of runs. If he does well for several years and ends up averaging 50 with over 10,000 runs I don't see why he shouldn't be considered an ATG by some.
I'd be very suprised if Cook ends his career with an average of 50. Think it is much more likely to be around the mid 40's.

Playing pace well is much more important than playing spin well.
Yeah indeed. Which is why imo, the defense against someone like Sehwag being a very good player of spin isn't enough to stop him being labelled a flat track bully (and also why he will never be an ATG, or particularly close to it, in my eyes). Playing pace well surely also has to entail doing a servicable job when the ball is moving around a bit.

Something I didn't know is that both Germany's and Britain's largest indoor spectator sport is Ice Hockey.

With him being 27 averaging just shy of 49 atm and a lot of his peak years ahead of him I wouldn't be surprised at all if he can finish with a 50 average.

But this can't realistically matter. There's a European Handball team here. But it's a joke to say it's played here in any meaningful sense.

The same reason why SC observers have skwed views regarding ATG. Robin Smith was great against pace, but here we don't regard him as a "good" because he sucked against spin. Same goes for players like Hussain, Stewart etc. It's a great pity that you think playing pace is more important than playing spin. FFS 45% of overs in test cricket is bowled by spinners.
