Who will the first to break Anwar's 194?

i dont remember a time when Zimbabwe were ever ranked 8th out of the 9 playing teams.....they were getting better...but minnows by far
That's because ODI rankings were only ever introduced in about 2003, by which time they were no longer ODI-standard...

Zimbabwe from 1995-2000 won about 35% of their ODI's. England from 2005 have won about 39% of their ODIs.

So you can't have it both ways.
Anyone who seriously argues that the Zimbabwe of 1983-Apr2003 weren't ODI-class is out of their mind IMO.

Yes. From now on, I'll expect you to take out New Zealand in the early part of their career, India/Pakistan early on, Sri Lanka in the eighties, etc, every time you post stats about a player...OK?
Uh-uh... India and Pakistan (and Sri Lanka - just) have always been ODI and Test class. New Zealand weren't until 1960 (and nor were SA until 1904 but I don't really count 19th-century Tests as the same as 20th-century ones anyway).

The only time we've ever seen substandard teams (until very recently with this nonsense about 6 non-Test as well as Zim and Ban as ODI-playing sides) have been in the case of NZ in the 1930s and '50s, Zimbabwe since WC2003 and Bangladesh\Kenya.

I do ignore such games, every single time, incidentally. To class them ODIs (or Tests where applicable) and place any importance whatsoever on them when comparing to real ODIs and Tests is ludicrous IMO.

i think you misunderstood me....i am not saying that sachin only scores agianst minnows 10 out of his 40 are against weak opposition...still leaves 30...

all i am saying that he is the best minnow basher of our time
What's the point of posting something like that other than to provoke?

im not 2 sure as 2 who could break it my guesses would be ponting, ganguly, younis khan (though he does have a nervous 190s haha), and perhaps sarwan but either way i think it will be like the test match batting record. once its broken it'll be broken again within 12 months

I think only an aggressive batsman with maturity can break anwar's record, so people like younis khan, or sarwan would not be my choice to break that record.

i would say dhoni....but i feel that he bast too low down to do that....ill go for ganguly...dont know why...he might do it in this WC as well!

If not him.....maybe sehwag...yes, i am serious.....he is just so random and also needs to prove himself!

^Good call with Chanderpaul i think, he doesn't look much but sometimes when he's on form he can really give it a go.

Chanderpaul is either impossibly slow or impossibly quick, and sometimes both in the same innings.

And I'll tell you what - I don't think he chooses, either, it's just if the mood catches him. He plays slow more often than he plays fast, so I'd say slow is "normal" for him but he sure as is a strange batsman.

Just flipped through this thread.

Took an absolute age for Tendulkar to even be mentioned - well behind the Gayle's, Sehwag's, Jaysuriya's

Yeah, was 2007 tbf, iirc everyone thought he was done and dusted and was never going to properly recover.

Almost no one mentioned Tendulkar except some bloke who thought he may do it against a minnow and someone else almost as an afterthough.
