Maybe. knows his game though, and a fine temperament. He has to come down to earth soon. He is not that good.
He does love batting here. Sydney maybe. About the only thing he hasn't done.Sachin Tendulkar, I hope...
Not impossible - presumably with Cook & Trott being favouritesone of the english guys in uae.
Tough call for Bell making 300 at number 5 imo.Ian Bell in the UAE. Either him or Pieterson but I'll go for Bell as my prime choice.
Yeah, tough unless one of Strauss/Trott/Cook get injured and Bell moves up to no.3 like he did in the recent series.Tough call for Bell making 300 at number 5 imo.
Oh yeah. Forget he will go back to 5, he made his 235 v India at number 3 so I thought he could do better in the UAE. Pieterson or Cook then.Tough call for Bell making 300 at number 5 imo.
Hafeez.
timeless tests back? Not impossible - presumably with Cook & Trott being favourites
It's actually not a bad shout, the more I think about it.
Interesting choice. Would have thought Younis or Misbah would be a lot more likely.
Wow.So the winner was Gayle with 333 vs SL in Galle Nov 2010
Think Shane Watson could be a similar case, a better player of course but who has had similar problems, can really dominate attacks though, maybe a chance against New Zealand or India. It's actually not a bad shout, the more I think about it.
Firstly he's an opener, who are a lot more likely to make the biggest scores than middle order bats like Misbah. He's in a good run of form, his next 6 Tests will be on UEA shirtfronts, three of those will be against a shaky looking Sri Lankan attack, and he usually scores his runs at a good pace which means he's very unlikely to get declared on or carry his bat.
The main thing to get past is that Hafeez has a deserved reputation for chucking away his starts. But he's improved a hell of a lot more than I thought he was capable, so maybe he's going to keep up the learning curve and give us a big innings too? I think it's a good call, at least for an outside bet.
Mmm. Quite similar players these days.Think Shane Watson could be a similar case, a better player of course but who has had similar problems, can really dominate attacks though, maybe a chance against New Zealand or India.
Would also be hilarious to see him get out for 299.
