International Captain
Fine, line, isn't it. Having experienced the cast-of-thousands approach of the 1980's & 1990's, I'll always err on the side of consistency. However, we've seen Strauss and Bell return as better players after being dropped. Whether Broad's problems are due to a touch of complacency is debateable. I just think he's lost sight of what type of bowler he's supposed to be, and he's not managing either approach terribly well.
I agree with this but also in Broad's case, I believe, he should have never been anywhere near the England side, until he was back up to full form, with Notts. International cricket, is no place, to be coming back from injury and trying to find your form. He would have been far better off , missing the SL series and spending that time, getting overs under his belt, for Notts, might have done his batting some good as well.

Tbf he played a decent knock the only time it really mattered against SL

Broad's pretty useless with the bat when we're batting purely going for quick runs, and his ODI average his cack too. Yet when he does bat for 30 runs or so, he tends to score them quickly. Weird.

Anyway, five days out and I'm afraid of change; Broad for me.

Didn't he make a 50 in one knock? Considering that there was zero emphasis on wicket preservation in his other knocks, that works.

Haha. Some good posts on this page. I can't help but agree with the post immediately above this one.

Well said Jackknife

Seems like the right place to post this.

Anderson looks fully firing now. With his potential for vicious late movement both ways with new or old, Broad bowling exceptional probing top-of-off seam at pace, Swann probing and more than holding his own against the world's best players of spin and Tremlett ever dangerous, England's attack looks pretty unstoppable on form atm. India have to take the initiative to try them knock them off their rocker or they will asphyxiate them.

 you Sparkeh.

Tremmers has been off colour though. Far too many legside deliveries, with alternate spells looking like doing the business. Reminded me of Finn itbt, and he's better. And where the hell has Tremlett's no-ball problem come from?
