Recently before Sydney test Allan boarder said - well i am a fan of both lara and sachin tendulkar, i love their batting more than anyone else but Steve smith is the best since Bradman.

And statistically Steve Smith is playing in the most bowling friendly era since last 60 years.
Most test with 60+ career average -
1- Sutcliffe -54
2- don Bradman -49
3- spd Smith -43

Most consecutive test with 55+ test AVG
1- Steve Smith -77*
2- Gary sobers -74
3- sachin tendulkar -65
4- ponting -56
It is quite funny when someone says Sachin was more consistent than Steve Smith.

Sachin got around 1700-1800 free runs at around 90 AVG against farmers,
In current era every team has a bowler with<28 bowling average.

See the drastic difference between sachin era and the current era

In 90s era Sachin against the toothless bowlers of NZ ,sl, eng - 2990 runs at 75.76 AVG with 13 centuries.

This Richard guy sounds interesting. Reached 80K posts and stopped posting a decade ago..... GIMH surpassed him to be 2nd, despite being a member for equally long, only last year. Would have completely butchered Burgey.

It did happen, Wasim went on national TV and drew a comparison between Marshall and Lillee, and basically said Lillee didn't take wickets in Asia and relied on pacey tracks, which I find funny as Wasim walks around here with a James Anderson tier away record.
Thommo said the same thing.
