Yeah some do overrate his batting. But I think he was still +2 better than what his actual average ended.

Botham was also +2 better than his actual numbers.
Botham batted no.6 in the 80s I agree.

Kapils average dropped the higher he batted which does tell me a fair bit.

Overrated by a small group of posters who want to big him up because he’s an SC pacer. Coincidentally the same who try to big up Imran’s bowling and downgrade Ambrose’s
Anyone who thinks Imran is a better bowler than Ambrose can't be taken seriously. Ambrose is a different class.

I find Kapil Dev difficult to rate. Good player in both disciplines, at times very good, but not elite in either.

Better longevity than Botham, but nowhere near as good a peak.
Precisely what I said. Dev was a good bowler, and ok bat. Not top class in either.

This is ridiculous. Hadlee would make every AT XI with possible exception of Australia and WI.
I haven't seen him in any other country 11 except NZ. 😴

Australia /WI yet to produce a better bowler than Hadlee. ( and he can bat too 🙏).
Arguable exception - Marshall.
