Yeah, I mean better or worse than what their stats are. Botham is the best batter of all.I don’t disagree re: Pollock, but imo Jadeja is definitely clear of Kapil and Imran is quite close. Botham ahead of all of em.

Yeah some do overrate his batting. But I think he was still +2 better than what his actual average ended.Kapil is an underrated bowler and overrated bat.
Botham batted no.6 in the 80s I agree.Yeah some do overrate his batting. But I think he was still +2 better than what his actual average ended.
Botham was also +2 better than his actual numbers.
Overrated by a small group of posters who want to big him up because he’s an SC pacer. Coincidentally the same who try to big up Imran’s bowling and downgrade Ambrose’sOnly by those who don't rate SC bowlers as we established in that previous thread a while back.
Anyone who thinks Imran is a better bowler than Ambrose can't be taken seriously. Ambrose is a different class.Overrated by a small group of posters who want to big him up because he’s an SC pacer. Coincidentally the same who try to big up Imran’s bowling and downgrade Ambrose’s
They are likely 1 to 2 places apart in almost all our rankings.Anyone who thinks Imran is a better bowler than Ambrose can't be taken seriously. Ambrose is a different class.
Lot of revisionism around Imran the bowler these days. No way, he was rated this highly when he was playing. Kallis and Jadeja type revisionism. They are likely 1 to 2 places apart in almost all our rankings.
It would be revisionism if folks here were rating him ahead of Marshall and Hadlee who were ahead of him in their bowling primes.Lot of revisionism around Imran the bowler these days. No way, he was rated this highly when he was playing. Kallis and Jadeja type revisionism.
Not really 14 but 16 over a 14 year time period.Gimme another bowler who averaged 14 over a five-year period

This is ridiculous. Hadlee would make every AT XI with possible exception of Australia and WI.Hadlee wouldn't make an Indian AT 11 either
That'll be cheating.
Btw, Hadlee is the only better NZ cricketer than the names in this poll.
Precisely what I said. Dev was a good bowler, and ok bat. Not top class in either.I find Kapil Dev difficult to rate. Good player in both disciplines, at times very good, but not elite in either.
Better longevity than Botham, but nowhere near as good a peak.
Hadlee not making Australia and WI AT XI is almost as absurd as Kapil not making the NZ one; but still not there. This is ridiculous. Hadlee would make every AT XI with possible exception of Australia and WI.
I did say "possible" exception.Hadlee not making Australia and WI AT XI is almost as absurd as Kapil not making the NZ one; but still not there.
I just said that there is almost no possibility as wellI did say "possible" exception.
I haven't seen him in any other country 11 except NZ.This is ridiculous. Hadlee would make every AT XI with possible exception of Australia and WI.
Never heard of McGrath?I haven't seen him in any other country 11 except NZ.
Australia /WI yet to produce a better bowler than Hadlee. ( and he can bat too ).
Arguable exception - Marshall.
