How so?

Since then Lampard and Terry have come on leaps and bounds, Robinson has come into goal and looked very solid and less risky (although IMO not as brilliant as James, he's more consistent)

Rooney was 17 then, he'll be 19 and a lot wiser in 2006.
Rooney was 18, and next time he will be 20 :p

Gerrard is still devloping into a world class midfielder.

Ashley Cole is still improving to being the best left back around.

And Joe Cole is maturing into a very good player.

Add in the continuity of 2 more years playing as a team, and how was 2004 a better chance for us?

We've even got a better climate this time then in 2004 (ie the weather will be more what we're used to than it was in Portugal)
And throw in the likes of Wright-Phillips and Defoe. I'm not sure on Stewart Downing, it will depend how he goes this season and how fit he stays.

What about Nicky Butt? Execellent in South Keoria/Japan three years ago, but not so in the last EPL season with Newcastle?
Ditto Hargreaves.
On last season Carrick's moved ahead of Butt, who can't really make a first choice Newcastle side.

If Hargreaves plays again for England it'd be too soon IMO - I did laugh that he offered to miss a Bayern friendly to play out to the States and in spite of the lengthy injury list, Sven said he'd be OK.

A little off topic.

But I was wondering at what people think. It's a strange question but what the hell.

Considering since about 1996 I'd been following Real Madrid and Leeds they're the only teams I supported. Anyway considering Leeds are in the Championship and Real Madrid are annoying the **** out of me becuase they keep buying people they don't need and I'm getting sick of them. I need a new team to support, obviously I follow football quite passionately but no team has really taken my fancy.

I want a team to support in Spain, Italy and England. In Spain not Barca, Real or Valencia. In Italy not Juve, Milan, Roma or Inter. In England not Chelsea, NOT MAN U!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and maybe not Arsenal, I Mean I like the Gunners but nah I don't think I can follow them. I'm thinking Charlton in England.

In Spain it's out of Depor and Villareal but I just want some suggestions. Like I said, strange question but hopefully you guys can suggest a few teams :)

In Aus I'll folow the Roar of course ;)

For the first time in a long, long time I really believe that England have a side capable of winning the big one.

Broken metatarsels all round in 5....4....3....

Ahh yeah you're right. Not sure how much of a run he'd get behind Downing, Mendieta and Zenden.

Silly me

Why not a proper team from up north...like Everton, Wigan Athletic, Oldham(just for Dave), Blackburn, Bol-no, on second thoughts not scummy Bolton...

Everton only have one they sold Eddy Bosnar, i don't think they have another one apart from Cahill.

On teams i think your not a true fan if you stop support a side cus their in the Championship, keep supporting Leeds. I know i'm going to keep supporting Parma when they will probably drop down to SB. You don't have to support a team just cus there not in the top flight.

Is Bolton just down the road from St Helens/Wigan or is it just a place full of bogans?

Oh ok didn't realise they sold Bosnar. Must have been very recent?

I've just lost too much touch with Leeds because I can't see any of their games on TV. So I haven't really been following their progress.

Parma's a cool team to support BTW.

Maybe you should support a side which has more Aussies in it, when Man Utd isn't playing i support Liverpool cus Kewell plays for them. There also Newcastle if they sign both Emerton and Dukes, or Middlesbourgh if Dukes stays.
