Who do you think will be a better bet as a test allrounder in future?

Why are people comparing Watson to Flintoff at this stage of his career, wouldn't it be more logically to compare him to Bravo or Oram. Who are both better then him at this stage of his career.

good enough to bat top 4 for us I think but his bowling still has a fair way to go..

In 1st Class cricket they are both top order batsmen, but in international cricket both are middle/lower batsmen. I think people are placing too much attention to what he has done with the bat in FC cricket. When it comes to international cricket he has only had two good innings, one against Kenya and another one in the last ODI. Granted both of those innings, were the only real chance his had to get his eye in and not go for the smack from ball one. But that still only two good innings, ATM Oram is still a better bat.

In all seriousness, I wouldn't be surprised if Pathan did become an 'almost all-rounder' - similar to a Vaas or Warne in terms of batting. IMO, he has more batting talent than those two.

And your reason for Flintoff being a better test batsmen than Oram?? Hey, no doubting he's the number 1 allrounder at the moment ...but what makes you think there is no argument for Oram being the better test batsmen??

Where did i say Flintoff was a better test batsman? or though I do think that's true.

I have seen Oram bat in test's and he is good, but he's not a top order batsman and never will be, I think Watson will develope into a number 3 or 4 for us..

Comparing Watson to an established test all-rounder is ridiculous. I rate him the most talented with the bat of he, Bravo, Oram and Pathan though, but probably the poorest with the ball. The best fielder after Bravo as well.
