Who after a full career remains the worst tailender you have seen?

Coronis

International Coach
Chris Martin surely up there.

Obviously never saw him but Bert Ironmonger was awful with the bat, and practically useless in the field from all I’ve heard.

BazBall21

International Captain
Shannon Gabriel was pretty bad. The tail tends to be more dangerous these days so he was refreshing.

Martin definitely. That guy was a proper no 11 if I've ever seen one. From the ones not mentioned here, Monty and Kaneria were pretty poor too out of the ones I've seen

I'm not sure how Martin gets beaten, an average of 2.36 after 71 Tests and 104 innings (highest 12) is just legendary. He only hit 15 4's and I'd guess a few of those came off the edges.

Panesar by contrast had a high of 26 and more than double Martin's average.

There were a few who started out as bad as Martin but got a bit better as they got older - Christopher Mpofu and Manjural Islam spring to mind. Ebadot as well looked like he might challenge Martin originally too but recently made 20 odd.

Martin really stands out for not just being horrible but never finding a way to get any better with exposure over a long career.

Bilal Khan from Oman looks truly hopeless to me and he hasn't made double figures in any format for decades but he did make 21 in a Pakistani FC game in 2008.

Danny duck Morrison was pretty bad but he did once help save a test being involved in a 100 run partnership with Nathan Astle.
Interestingly he was dropped after the match for his efforts:(

Glad Mpofu got mentioned, him actually making a half ton in Zimbabwe domestic FC cricket is still something that is a little hard to believe, but it genuinely happened

More first class 50s than Rabada at least

Also not international but South Australia has had some pretty awful tailenders

Mark Harrity and Paul Rofe probably the most blatant examples thereof

Bill Bowes would be a candidate (although I didn't see him play, I saw cartoons by Roy Ulyett depicting him.) He took more FC wickets (1639) than he scored runs (1531). The same applied to Tests (68 wickets and 28 runs).
