Lillee is still leading the wicket count, although he's bowled a helluva a lot of overs... Obviously the program doesn't consider whether Bradman would have actually been as good against those bowlers or not, which I think he would, but many here doubt...

Ah yeah, I didn't see that DK had taken that many wickets, but he has bowled a lot of balls to get them.

Just saw further kudos for Ponsford and also Headley, to maintain relatively good averages without the benefits of any red ink at all, which certainly helped the guys above them.

Bradman would have been great against anyone, of that I have no doubt.

Cumulative batting and bowling averages. Everyone's averages are worse than their career stats, no doubt reflecting the higher than normal standard of the opposition.

The other thing it shows is that I was wrong to include Gibbs at the expense of Holding - a mistake I've rectified in the teams I'm simming now - leaving Sobers and Richards to do the spinning for the Windies.
Larwood  Always rated him but thought his stats would make him pretty much useless.

Matt79, I plan to use VC 4 for this tour as well. Considering it is rather simplistic, do you suggest I use The Cricket Simulator (DOS-based) instead? That appears to be slightly more complex IIRC and also has rain, etc. factored in. Thoughts?

Never heard of it - I'll have a look when I get a chance. Presumably you can get it online?

Shocking effort in the second innings by the Aussies - great comeback by the Windies bowlers. Garner and Ambrose - just brilliant.

BTW, Trumper the only centurian in the match - told you all. Many times in fact.

The series is off to a flyer.

Australia collapsing in the second innings when they had only a small target to chase. Some things never change... ;)

Great Test, what a performance from Garner, great support from Ambrose.

And Victor Trumper - well played, my son. :)

Bring on Perth.

Great start to the series. Same lineup for the WI for 2nd test at Perth and considering that they've only ever lost one test at Perth i would be very surprised if they didnt go 2 up in the series.

Given that you're using VC4 (I think), Hayden should definitely be in there.

Sorry mate, just simmed the second test. You should've spoken earlier. :)

EDIT: I can re-sim it. Yes?

Unchanged lineups for Perth? Aussies?
- Hayden for Morris
- Ponting for Harvey
- Waugh for Miller

Hayden should have a go. Ponting should have been ahead of Harvey anyway. As good as Miller is, Waugh's batting is more important, IMO, to Miller's bowling.
