Walsh got 30* in his 28th test and couldn't top it for the next 104 tests of his career.
Even "better" for the first category: Boucher made his top score (125) in his 21st match out of 147; I'm pretty sure that 126 matches is the record for this.Stewart scored 190 in his 18th match and didn't beat it in 115 more matches.
Kallis scored 189* in his 52nd match and didn't beat it for another 91 matches.
Great pickup regarding Boucher.Even "better" for the first category: Boucher made his top score (125) in his 21st match out of 147; I'm pretty sure that 126 matches is the record for this.
Incidentally, Hutton scored 0 and 1 in his first match, so set his personal "highest score" record either 3 or 4 times.
Nothing really, just correcting the earlier claim that he only had 2 bests (100 and 364).Great pickup regarding Boucher.
Not sure what is significant about Hutton getting his best 3 or 4 times though?
Come on Burnsy - you've done your bit for this game.2nd innings 80 on the cards, then a couple of nervous ninety Wattos.
Clarke improved his debut score in his 58th Test (166 against Pakistan - and then 168 v NZ in his 59th Test).No-one's answered my Clarke query - bloke scored 154(?) on debut and took about 5 years to go higher, is there a comparable streak from your very first innings or indeed is there anyone with a reasonably long career who never improved their high score?
James Anderson must've also gone quite a few without improving it - IIRC he had a 34 against South Africa from 2008 that was his best for ages until his 80odd against India last year.
must be 0?I think I recall that 375 is the lowest team score yet to be achieved but I'm sure you'll correct me on that if I'm wrong.
