damn. bevan had 6 tons and a HS of 108 but the 108 was the second of those six centuries. Should have beaten it.

So Kohli is the leader currently from the 5 countries listed aboves last Test XI. He has a very good chance of improving on that too. This is pretty much the anti-do well on debut list, although Cook had a great debut scoring a ton in the second innings and he has still managed to be on 9.

Lol at Tim Southee's 1 - that will probably stay like that until the end of his career, which would make him one of a very small group (Mathew Sinclair also would be a 1 wouldn't he?)

Also, Tom Latham has a good chance of beating everybody if he opens for the BCs for the next 10 years (which he might well do) and is already on 5 with a top of only 137.

He definitely has a chance but all it takes is his next score above 137 to be well above and it screws him up finishing on 6 or 7 for his career. Shakib and Kohli are in great spots, I'm tipping Sarkar to climb up the list heaps. Someone like Henry could increase a bit for NZ, Watling isn't in a bad spot either.

Sarfraz Ahmed has done this perfectly so far. A poor start and is improving as a batsman all the time. If Lakmal can continue playing for SL he could do well, as being on 6 with a highest score of 18 isn't bad at all.

steve waugh? he had dickloads of innings before a ton and then heaps before the double.
I mentioned Waugh on the first page with 7 - He started well but didn't get any HS between 100-150 and he had that 177 as his HS for a while.

sarfraz has got this **** locked down
Yep, he is a great chance unless Lakmal gradually develops into a bowling allrounder and gets to 10 before he has ever scored above 30.

I was just reading a Bang vs SA preview and I found myself wanting SA to pick Bavuma over van Zyl for making a new highest score purposes. Probably not the most common reasoning behind selection..

A bowling equivalent could also be interesting with BBIs (assuming none-fers aren't counted)
