whats going on with acb selectors

IMO they've gone for his experience (both international & v sub continent sides), his current form, & is Bracken still injured?????

The same basis of seam attack that worked in the TVS Cup.....rather than draft another newbie into a finals series......

his international figures are a bit distorted considering he has been used as a sub-continent 'specialist' and your returns do not always mirror your efforts or effectiveness on those pitches.......I recall he lost something like 15 - 20 kg in one series & bowled his heart out - but the stats don't indicate that........

at 31 he's not going to be a long term prospect once the Aussies have fully fit attack options........and at 33 Bichel could have even less time left............

If we want to be perfectly honest, aside from something extraordinary, Bichel's international career is as good as over.

which is why IMO he said what he said.......

the writing was already on the wall after this summer with the introduction of both Bracken & Williams to the Test side.....if McGrath & Co had not been injured then Bichel might have been able to hold them off a bit longer & get to SRL - but no more.............

I think he was hoping he could see out the finals - possibly regain form & if not then bow out gracefully - I don't think he envisaged the selectors being prepared to change a winning team at the finals...........

Correct me if I am wrong, but Hogg remains in the Australian squad....
But he is hardly playing much. I reckon he played just to give him a game to rest an Australian bowler.

I seriously hope Hogg's ODI economy-rate goes up before he's dropped.
Too low for me ATM.

Ok - here is a challenge for you.

Say something positive about someone.

Come on - I dare you.

Come on, Andre - I've said positive stuff about loads of players.:(
Just because I say less positive stuff than most people - what's wrong with that?:saint:

Have you not noticed his constant eulogising over Graeme "caught behind square on the offside again" Smith?

Although recently, he's been a bit quiet on that front as well...

Usually caught behind square on the off-side after scoring about 150...

It's so much easier to just let Graeme's bat do the talking.:D

From 1998 onwards Ramprakash was dropped only after a period opening, which should never have happened, and after two New Zealand series.
Before that there was every justification for his constant being dropped.

Well - one of my favourites.
It's not our fault if people don't notice there's a difference between opening and the middle-order.

Yes, his bat did keep doing the talking - except outside off stump though, it appeared a bit mute...
