What is the greatest innings in a drawn game?

Coronis

International Coach
Lindsay Kline’s 15* and Ken Mackay’s 62* (in that order) vs Windies Adelaide 1961

Same series as the tied test, these guys had a last wicket stand of 66 off 283 in the final hour and 50 minutes of the test.

Kline especially, averaged 8 in FC and Tests, this 15* was his highest test score.

Mark Greatbatch 146* off 485 balls in 655 mins (11 hours) when an understrength (no Hadlee, no Andrew Jones) and underprepared NZ followed on in a one-off test vs Australia on a fiery WACA pitch in 89/90.

Dudley Nourse 231 at Jo'burg 1935. Scored in the 3rd innings of the game when the wicket was wearing and SA well behind after both sides completed modest first innings.

Actually put SA in a position to win as the wicket was quite poor for the last day. McCabe secured a draw for Aus by scoring an unbeaten 189. One of his 3 great career defining innings.

Well Australia actually looked pretty set for a win before a thunderstorm cut the match short at 274/2.

124 runs adrift when the game was called. Hard to know. Mostly depends on McCabe staying until the end. Fingleton recalled the difficulty of the wicket and was in awe of McCabe attacking when he was pressed keeping the ball out. If McCabe went with the score around the 300 mark Australia would've had to rely on Darling, Chipperfield and Richardson bringing them home. On that pitch I'm not overly confident.

However it was an indication of how well McCabe was batting that the SA captain appealed against the light!
