Yeah, but at least don't play him anywhere below 4 where he has to hit out from the beginning. He needs to build an innings before hitting out since he is not a natural big hitter like a Yuvraj or a Dhoni or a Raina.Good man for coming to your sense
But not sure whether you can drop Gambhir, who is still capable of this
I thought of that innings, but it was against a fairly ordinary attack TBF. Gambhir not opening might mess up the balance of the side a bit.. as Shri pointed out, he doesn't look like a natural hitter.Good man for coming to your sense

Hmm, yeah. It's not a bad problem to have, anyway. That's not too different from SL's attack that we'll face in the World Cup, and they're one of the biggest contenders. He made Malinga look ordinary, and he's one of the best in the world.
Gambhir has been playing 3 for ages. He hasn't been a regular opener unless Sehwag or Tendulkar are out. Don't see how he's been able to do it all this time and suddenly can't in the World Cup on pitches that suit his batting.
How about R Ashwin in there? In place of Ojha probably. In ODIs for the World Cup I think it's pretty straightforward from the batting front. Bowling, considering the wickets, surely only two front line fast bowlers. You have to play Zaheer, which means Praveen, Nehra and Ishant will fight for the second seamer spot (Sree ain't anywhere close in ODIs surely). Ojha and Harbhajan should both play IMO. Can't rely on Yuvraj to bowl like he did today every game and not be taken apart. Anyone other than Clarke would have mauled him.

I think that would be a good choice. Quite like that guy.How about R Ashwin in there? In place of Ojha probably.
Biggest problem is finding some death over bowlers there. The Indians amongst the forum here seem to be against the idea of Praveen doing the job, so does that mean that you sacrifice a spinner at that stage? In ODIs for the World Cup I think it's pretty straightforward from the batting front. Could have given Murali Vijay a shout out as well.
