We've almost wrapped this up now, but just to keep things rolling along, PEWS has timed out.

Samuel > mrmister > Weldone (x4)

Magrat Garlick

Rather Mad Witch
Clayton Lambert (a man who needs a forgotten story of article, get on it Grauniad)

1 Chris Gayle
2 Joey Carew
3 George Challenor
4 Clyde Walcott (wk)
5 Jimmy Adams
6 Clayton Lambert
7 Denis Atkinson
8 Norbert Phillip

9 Jerome Taylor
10 Ian Bishop
11 Courtney Walsh (c)

A nice mix of eras, almost feeling guilty for picking Challenor now that everyone has pointed out their quota. But it's ok it's not like quota selections have ever hurt WI cricket or anything lolz

Has its weaknesses but I feel Walsh will bash some heads in.

A joker in Gayle who was picked on performance grounds.

Pedro Collins. Took 100+ wickets and was left handed so it's something

Gordon Greenidge
Sherwin Campbell
Phil Simmons 5
Darren Bravo
Carl Hooper 6*
Gus Logie
Jeff Dujon +
Darren Sammy 4*
Pedro Collins 3
Manny Martindale 2
Joel Garner 1

Happy enough. Like my new ball bowlers, Feel Greenidge, Hooper and Bravo are all more than capable batsmen, and feel there is a fair bit of depth in both the batting and bowling to be competitive.

Daren Ganga. I know I can pick (slightly) better players but I've never had the opportunity to pick Ganga in a draft before without it being ridiculous, so I'm going to take it.

Sweet, just gotta now wait to hear from weldone.

Surprised mr_mister's main man Devon Smith didn't get a run! ;-)

Well, I guess we can't wait for weldone forever. I've been thinking of players to finish off his team for him. What do y'all think of this line up (players selected by me in bold)

1 Jeff Stollmeyer
2 Kraigg Brathwaite
3 Shivnarine Chanderpaul
4 Clive Lloyd c
5 Eldine Baptiste
6 David Holford
7 Dinesh Ramdin +
8 Charlie Griffith
9 Curtly Ambrose
10 Vanburn Holder
11 Kemar Roach

A few other options are Jermaine Lawson, Fidel Edwards, Freddie Martin, Jermaine Blackwood, Kirk Edwards & Winston Davis. Let me know what you think and I'll get the vote underway soon.

Zinzan picked Ramdin. David Murray is an obvious unpicked keeper.
Baptiste was a bowling all-rounder, so batting him at 5 looks a bit odd.

Time to give my side a quick pump.... pretty happy overall.

Solid left/right opening partnership with Wavell Hinds (always had a soft-spot for Wavell) and the very classy Lawerence Rowe.

My fearless skipper (who like Viv never wore a helmet) Richie Richardson @ 3 & then the one and only B C Lara at four.

The very underrated, but man for a crisis Brendon Nash @ 5, with strong batting all-rounder Dwayne Bravo at 6. It's easy to forget Bravo scored an away Test ton against Australia against a very strong attack several years back.

Ramdin & Winston Benjamin close out a very strong top 8.

Now to the bowling... it's a very brisk attack of the express Roy Gilchrist, the straight out terrifying Andy Roberts & the best & the fastest of the Benjamin's, Winston at 1st change.... with a more than decent spinner Dinanath Ramnarine and Dwayne Bravo as a handy a crafty 4th seamer....

The Frank Costanza Memorial XI

1. Wavell Hinds
2. Lawrence Rowe
3. Richie Richardson (c)
4. Brian Lara (vc)
5. Brendan Nash
6. Dwayne Bravo 4
7. Denesh Ramdin +
8. Winston Benjamin 3
9. Dinanath Ramnarine 5
10. Andy Roberts 2
11. Roy Gilchrist 1

I'd like to try this with England but Australia would be good too. Maybe even South Africa if it was a small turnout

I'd be keen on either of those 3.... New Zealand would also be interesting..... few WC players, but plenty just around the 'Test standard' class....

Thanks for the feedback Andrew. No. 5 was indeed too high for Baptiste, so I'll sub him for Jermaine Blackwood who suits the role best.

weldone (mostly)

1 Jeff Stollmeyer
2 Kraigg Brathwaite
3 Shivnarine Chanderpaul
4 Clive Lloyd c
5 Jermaine Blackwood
6 David Holford
7 David Murray +
8 Charlie Griffith
9 Curtly Ambrose

It's actually a pretty good team IMO.

Glad to see the concept was well received, I know it wasn't an elaborate idea or anything, but to my knowledge it hadn't been done before (or at least in the past few years) on CW. So yeah, I will host some more of these in the future. Voting will begin soon.

Apologies if you've done this already PEWS, but I need you to post your final team before I start the vote.

I think I just really want an England one so I can finally draft my faves from the '90s without feeling like I'm wasting a selection lol

I suppose we can always have 2 going at once

England one sounds nice too.

I can get the Aussie one kicked off if people don't mind.
