Cricketer Of The Year
That's okay I wasn't gonna pick Rose or Williams. I may as well pick twice to save time also.

Bernard Julien & Deryck Murray

Zinzan > weldone.> PEWS

Weldone has timed out twice consecutively now, if he hasn't picked by the time it's his turn again we'll just skip him until further notice.

Hope to hear from you soon weldone.

International Captain
Jackie Hendriks - my token white and the man considered by Garry Sobers to be the best wicket keeper ever produced by the West Indies.

1. Roy Fredericks
2. Basil Williams
3. Vivian Richards (c, 5)
4. Basil Butcher
5. Alvin Kallicharran
6. Keith Arthurton
7. Keith Boyce (2)
8. Jackie Hendriks (wk)
9. Franklyn Rose (3)
10. Herman Griffith (1)
11. Lance Gibbs (4)

A relatively strong upper-middle order batting lineup, a great wicket keeper, a great spinner and a workmanlike pace bowling attack with no real stragglers. Pretty pleased with this side, although others may have a more potent attack, particularly on a green top.

Denesh Ramdin as my keeper to finish. Reasonably happy overall.

The Frank Costanza Memorial XI

1. Wavell Hinds
2. Lawrence Rowe
3. Richie Richardson (c)
4. Brian Lara (vc)
5. Brendan Nash
6. Dwayne Bravo 4
7. Denesh Ramdin +
8. Winston Benjamin 3
9. Dinanath Ramnarine 5
10. Andy Roberts 2
11. Roy Gilchrist 1

AndrewB

International Vice-Captain
John Goddard.

Final XI:
John Holt
Andy Ganteaume
Seymour Nurse
Everton Weekes
Joe Solomon
Gerry Alexander+
John Goddard (5)
Learie Constantine* (3)
Michael Holding (1)
Tony Gray (2)
Alf Valentine (4)

So, a great and a might-have-been-but-for-injuries from the WIPQ era to open the bowling, with two more renowned bowlers in Constantine and Valentine as back-up and Goddard to chip in with off-spin/medium pace as required. Weekes and Nurse are the obvious stars in the batting, otherwise it's pretty solid down to 7, then Constantine can enjoy himself against tired bowlers.

Camo999

State 12th Man
WH St Hill
AF Rae
CA Davis
*Sir FMM Worrell 4
MN Samuels
KH 'Bam Bam' Weekes
+JR Murray
RA Harper 5
Sir WW Hall 1
CEH Croft 3
BP Patterson 2

The express bowling attack of Hall / Patterson / Croft would be fairly unpleasant to face, backed by the variety of Worrell and Harper. Led by Worrell, the batting also features proven test performers Rae and Davis and a couple of enigmatic talents in St Hill and Marlon who likely would have benefited from playing in a united side under Worrell. With the big hitting of Bam Bam and Junior to follow them, this would definitely be a side worth watching.

Cricketer Of The Year
Collis King to round off my XI

1 Conrad Hunte
2 Bernard Julien (6)
3 George Headley (c)
4 Larry Gomes
5 Collis King (7)
6 Collie Smith (5)
7 Deryck Murray (+)
8 Sylvester Clarke (1)
9 George Francis (2)
10 Kenneth Benjamin (4)
11 Wayne Daniel (3)

Great draft everyone. It got really slim towards the end & I narrowly missed out on a few key players that I wanted, but overall I'm pleased with the team. I have a traditional Windies style 4-pronged fast bowling attack led by Francis, regarded as the best West Indian bowler of his time who took 82 wickets at 15.58 apiece during the 1923 tour to England, & Clarke, a bowler considered to be the most intimidating and feared fast bowler of his generation. Viv Richards even went a record claiming that Clarke was the only bowler he did not feel comfortable batting against. However, Clarke wasn't just all menace & intimidation, as his career bowling average of 19.52 will tell you. In support I have the 'Black Diamond' Wayne Daniel, who starred for WI both in Tests & Packer's World Series, & Kenny Benjamin, who supported Ambrose & Walsh with great success. I also have Julien, who adds some variety with his left-arm medium-fast, & Collis King, who bowls medium.

Julien also opens the batting, he was mainly a middle order batsman but he did infact open the batting in a couple of Tests & actually averaged 71.00 in that position. Julien was also an excellent fielder. His partner is the great Sir Conrad Hunte, who needs no introduction. Neither does my No.3, George Headley, who I am hoping will play some 'Bradman-esque' knocks with the class of Hunte & the dogged determination of Larry Gomes in support. In the middle order I have the flamboyance of Collis King, a truly calypso flavored batsman, & another hard hitter in Collie Smith, who is also my sole spinner. I imagine Smith wouldn't bowl all that much during the first three days of the match on those typically hard & fast WI pitches, but as the cracks open wider later in the game & the pitch starts taking spin he would be a supreme asset.

Finally, Deryck Murray, one of West Indies finest ever glovemen, rounds off the team. It's a good team, but there are many other quality teams here & the vote should be really close, no clear favorite IMO.
