I agree that the managers should have a say. After all, without us there'd be no game. We should form a union. :)

However, I think WCC is being run very well in general and I will respect any decision put forth by the board (providing that it lies within my morals).

No, they have nets and practises, which we don't.

Ours is completely stats driven, real life isn't.

Rik said:
Maybe so, but I still think the managers should have a say, we play this game after all. We have to put ideas to the board who can quite easily ignore it. So in a sense it's more dicatorship than communism!
[/B]
The board runs the game for the members and does what it feels is best for the game in general.

By your definition, every Government is more of a dictatorship than not, since they ignore the public feeling.

Oh, and if you don't like it, you can always set up your own PbeM! :P

Rik said:

There have been several circumstances in which this has not been the case.

Oh, the feelings have been taken into account, but the board has decided in the end to not adopt exactly what has been said.

Get a liscence? VC4's owner has no problem with it being free-ware. It's not as if WCC is a money making enterprise. Anyway if you design it well enough no other game could use it...
A license? Please explain what you mean.

The easiest way to prevent it being shared is to restrict the distribution to those that need it.

By definition, that is only the people actually running the sims.

Yeah I like the idea of the union, would help with getting ideas across to the Board really.

Since it is being made for WCC by a member of WCC is can be easily made so it is not compatible with anything but WCC. Also we could be made to sign a liscence saying we will only use it for personal use. Failure to comply could end up with the person in question being kicked out. I suggest a code function so that only WCC registered members could use it. Everyone would have their own code and if a player leaves their code is annulled. It should not be too hard to impliment, I've done it on a project in Microsoft Access.

Well, since GB asked for people to suggest things they want the board to discuss, nobody has suggested anything...

A union would be a complete and utter waste of time.

Alternatively, just do exactly what GB is doing, give it only to those that actually need it, and it removes any unnecessary codes etc.

I know you will just argue with me for the sake of it anyway but implimenting a code system is childs play for any programmer, I know, I've done it, and I'm not a very experianced programmer. In the interists of having a game like we have now, which is running fine with everyone having the program, I have no idea why it is so important that we don't have it.

Still doesn't change the fact that these codes are un-necessary since the only people having a copy of theprogram will be those that actually need it to run games.

You can argue until you're blue in the face, but it won't change the fact that this is the fairest and safest way to go about it.

And you can argue till your blue in the face (which you have an odd tendancy of doing when it involves my opinion), but your view seems to be that of a board member cut off from the concerns of the managers. I do not see why it is so important that we don't get to use this program, we all play the game, we should all be given the oppertunity to use it. It seems so important we don't, so why?

Well, they don't want to be thinking for too long, since the meeting will be held within the next week.
They have set down that they will post their opinions...in the relevent thread.

Well explain to me how it is fairer that we do all get access, and that in the process this unique program ends up being worldwide in a matter of weeks?

Explain to me why we have to all do without the program used in the game we play...

I'm giving you items, it's just your taking them as opinions and because it's me you are ignoring them and trying to not let them get any further. Face it Marc I have ideas that I think will help the WCC and I want to know what people think about it. And stop acting all high and mighty, your opinion on this means jack ****. It's up to Blewy.

I will inform all that this Comment is currently under investigation by myself...

Maybe you have forgotten the rules of the WCC rik but you may want to take a read here....

http://forum.cricketweb.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3772&highlight=rules

In particular this comment...

"Any Manager who abuses or makes a derogatory to another manager and a complaint is put forward. The issue will be looked at by the board and if the person is found guilty then a points penalty will be handed down. The penalty will be decided by the board... Also Cricketweb administrators will be informed of your actions...

If you repeat the offence after being found guilty the 1st time you will be immeadiatley banned from WCC, and the relevant information will be forwarded to Cricketweb for you to face their punishment...

Also i wish to inform every member that a member of the board is classified on the same level as myself, so if any person is found to have disrespected a board member they will face immediate dismissal from the WCC..

My decision will be handed down after an investigation has been undertaken...

Ok before you all start having a crack at the board....

This was even suggested to me by the creator of the sim... He felt it was not really a good idea handing it out to everyone as it spoils the game somewhat...

Also for the people complaining about the simmers getting an unfair advantage over others, it would not happen as the only simmer that has access to his own team is myself and if you want to question my integrity then you know where the door is...

I am absolutley sick of people questioning the boards integrity and every decision that gets made or knocked back.... Unless you are prepared to get off your asses and put in the work that the people on the board do, SHUT UP or LEAVE, We are here for the fun of the game, at no stage have any of us recieved anything for running WCC except, abuse complaints and whinging on behalf of certain members... This is a warning anymore and WCC may be stopped completely
