Which one is the murderer and which is the shop-lifter? It's the others who have been 'getting away' with it, whereas Murali has been tested over and over again, and subjected to abuse all around the world. I think it's astounding that he hasn't given considering what he's subjected to...

hehe, im enjoying the analogy.. I don't think Murali has killed anyone though, save for a few batsmen's careers.. But that doesnt matter, we just love watching him bowl..

infact,if anyone is 'getting away with murder' its the likes of McGrath,Pollock,Gillespie,Ntini,Kumble,Pathan, Zaheer,Sami etc etc etc. for while murali has been castigated for 'chucking', turns out all these bowlers are chuckers to around the same degree.

Langvelt- again, that is bias. You are holding it against Murali for being a chucker and destroying a few batsmen's careers with his incisive bowling.
Yet you arnt saying a word about McGrath being a chucker and destroying a few batsmen's careers with his incisive bowling.
Clear bias.

Its not cheating if 99% of bowlers in the history of cricket are in the same boat.

- Daryl Foster (claims Murali is unfairly targeted)
- Bruce Yardley
- Bruce Elliot

- and ofcourse Bradman (albeit controversially)

I could probably name some more if you want.

But think abt it, the anti murali people:

- Parkinson
- Emerson
- John Howard

hmm I definitely know who I'd believe.

btw. Nasser Hussain is a classic example of changing sides after Murali became successful.

This is what he said in February 2001

"I am not interested in his action. The ICC has cleared him and he is playing with great distinction for Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka should be proud of him and he could well become one of the best bowlers of all time."

And we all know his latest views.

Its much easier to come out and say you think he is fine than it is to say you think he chucks. Current players would be fined and reprimanded severly for making any anti-murali comment. Likewise, past players dont want to be seen as the bad guy for being against him. The whole thing is a joke and a beat up from the murali camp to make anyone who thinks him throw to be seen as "evil" or "biased" etc. I think you'd find that in any secret ballot of all cricketing players, experts, umpires, there would be far more people saying he does chuck than say he doesnt.

That's where you're wrong. I think any expert who has examined his action would proclaim it fair and legal under the new laws. The people who call Murali a chucker are largely not qualified to comment on the subject, and just go by what they see, rather than facts. I'm more inclined to believe those who participated in the studies into chucking and the experts conducting those studies.

umm those people could just say nothing on the topic. For example, Mark Nichollas didn't HAVE to entitle his article "Murali is the victim of umpires on a crusade". He could just have made some diplomatic statement like "Murali is a successful wicket taker." How can someone say he is against Murali if he says something like that? All the people who I listed were pretty categoric in their defense of Murali.

what's wrong with these people? they see the scientific evidence right in front of them but they refuse to accept them. It's amazing!! MURALI DOESN'T CHUCK NO MORE THAN 99% OF OTHER BOWLERS! GET IT IN TO YOUR THICK HEADS.

whgat are u talking man? if a bowler chucks then he chucks ok! u can't say mcgrath chucks less than murali. according to previous ICC chucking laws 99% of all bowlers chuck including your precious mcgrath. so how can u say it's crap.

actual flexion number is irrelevant. What is relevant is how much do they contravene the laws by.
Murali may have more of a kink that McGrath but bear in mind that ICC regulations (old) allowed spinners 10 degrees of flexions and medium pacers like McGrath 5 degrees.
So if McGrath flexes by 9 degrees and Murali by 12, McGrath breaks the laws more severely than Murali.
And you find the notion of McGrath chucking to be utter crap ?
why is that ? Media articles and brainwashing ?
Do i need to remind you that about 500 years ago most people found the notion of a sun-centric solar system to be utter crap, because the prevalent opinion in the media was against it ? Dont dispute science- it is sheer folly.

When SCIENCE has proven that 99% of bowlers are chuckers and the only bowler not to chuck that took part in ICC champions trophy was Sarwan (where McGrath,Kumble,Gillespie,Pollock,Pathan,Harmison,Ntini,Sami,Akhtar, etc. were present), the issue is beyond contestation.

If Murali is a chucker, so are the rest for the laws are simple- if you break the flexion limit prescribed to your class of bowlers, you are a CHUCKER. End of story.
If you are willing to criticise Murali for being a chucker, be consistent and do so for Pidge and Dizzy and the rest too.

And bear in mind that I am of Indian roots and i am not leaving out Indian bowlers from the list.... i would like to see you provide same levels of unbiassedness.

I have to totally disagree with pidgey and dizzy chucking...most extreme pace bowlers are suspected of chucking- akhtar, lee but jeeze these guys bowl at what mid 130's
