So some guy watched every ball these guys faced that clocked 140kph+ and calculated the averages?
Does he get paid for that?

Can't do it for older players from times when bowling speeds weren't meassuredIt looks very much doubtful; especially how can you go over someone like Tendulkar’s career with 200 games and track each 140k delivery ??
Someone brought up Smith facing genuine pace hence the post. Regardless of getting hit, getting out at the other end, point being he wasn't getting out to balls of over 140Even if it was 100% accurate, it's pretty arbitrary to judge anyone based on that. Bloke could survive the 150k bowler then get out to the spinner at the other end because he's shaken up and takes a risk he otherwise wouldn't have
Or in Steve Smith's case he literally was concussed and missed a game (which England won) by a 140kph+ delivery, which wouldn't go against his stats but was worth way more than just 1 wicket
Number of innings is very less compared to Waugh, Silva and Tendulkar. Some of those centuries from Aravinda I can assure scored while taking the fastest in the attack to the cleaners. No one took this seriously but facts support this.

I don't think any ATG player plays for himself. Only those players who are circumspect about their place in the team slightly play for themselves so as to safeguard a permanent position.Richards clearly the Better Player of Pace , Lara clearly the better player of spin , all formats and all facets of cricket included its not even a contest , as a pure test batsmen? richards in my honest opinion , The King of Antigue is probably less likely to play for himself then the prince of port of spain
Hadlee was notorious for playing for personal records. And then Kapil extended his career to overtake Hadlee.I don't think any ATG player plays for himself. Only those players who are circumspect about their place in the team slightly play for themselves so as to safeguard a permanent position.
Ok, in that context I agree. I was thinking of playing for oneself within a match.Hadlee was notorious for playing for personal records. And then Kapil extended his career to overtake Hadlee.
Graeme PollockThere is no way any batsman can be more flamboyant than Lara. Is there one?
No. Sachin struggled against medium fast bowler with great Accuracy and movement like McGrath, Pollock and Anderson while Lata has a better record against them(McGrath and Pollock)Think Tendulkar was better than Lara against all types of pace. Not by miles, but clearly better. Lara better than Tendulkar against spin.
Another stat that proves Kohli >> Tendulkar
Tendulkar didn't struggle but wasn't as productive.No. Sachin struggled against medium fast bowler with great Accuracy and movement like McGrath, Pollock and Anderson while Lata has a better record against them(McGrath and Pollock)
SemanticsTendulkar didn't struggle but wasn't as productive.
No. Tendulkar did fine. He didn't have a weakness as such.Semantics
Tendulkar, Viv, Lara. but all close. Tendulkar more circumspect, Viv had better reflexes than the others while Lara was more likely to be caught behind for me.Rank Tendulkar, Lara, and Viv against lateral movement
No. Tendulkar did fine. He didn't have a weakness as such.
