And I am not demanding you rate Waugh higher but don't use this raw RPI metric to determine that.
Wouldn't you assume this to be the case when you have your best bat in the lower middle? Especially in an era where the attacks that are running you into the early problems are new ball quicks without much spin or reverse to follow up on with.

I don't see how that is a slight on Waugh though. Seems like good strategy.
I'm not using it as a slight on Waugh. I just find it a bit weird that you are repeating it as praise when it should almost be a given for the circumstances.

Tangentially, I find it a bit weird how often lower middle orders get praised for 'matchwinning' performances. If a match runs close, you can expect runs to come from them a disproportionate proportion of the time. If the top does all the work, it's considered a one-sided affair, and not worth analysing.
