Well with Kohli his decline’s been after Bangladesh 2019.

So the raw numbers since then if you’re looking for a comparable decline

34 matches 59 innings 1837 @ 32.22 2 tons 9 fifties
Got lucky with that 186 on the flattest pitch known to man, and a hundred vs Windies. He’s been so awful.

It's gone from schadenfreude to concern to sympathy to GTFO already. What's with Indian greats since Tendulkar not letting fans bask unequivocally in their reflected glory? Let us have our numbers ffs.

Think Tendulkar, Gavaskar, Sangakkara and Dravid will always be ahead.

He's a contender for no5, but the limitations of his spin game have been exposed by a combination of ageing physical attributes and pitches getting tougher. He's had a rough hand since 2019 but I can't think of anyone who reached such great heights that had a decline this bleak.
I will also add Miandad to the list.

I think you are reading a bit too much into this series, in which no one but Pant scored runs in more than one innings (which Kohli did as well). I will wait for Australia to comment anything more on this subject
This is not just this series. This is a cumulative effect of the previous 5 years. This is just the tipping point. Also, the whole batting has been horrible doesn't mean Kohli hasn't. The pitches aren't as tough as these guys are making it out to be.

Probably aren't. Please wait till Australia, let's see there what happens. Kohli really had only two horror years, 2021 and 22; 2020 saw hardly any play and he was top of his game in the glimpses of 23. If he fails in Australia this time around, I think it's totally fair.
