Few years ago it was quite funny to listen to one of the Aussie lads that was playing for Firebirds. He used to say every session they would hear from the coaching staff about this kid that goes to the nets at 5 a.m. or something ridiculous like that even in winter to train to be able to go to the school and also fit in cricket. The question to the firebirds players then from the staff was how much do you want it? Did they want it as much as this kid wanted? The bloke was tired of listening to that and said in jest he wants to kidnap this kid lol I see these days lots of kids work super hard and it may sound like an exaggeration but every kid wants to be like Ravindra in Wellington. Work super hard and not leave it to chances. Ravindra despite having hardly played any professional cricket yet has inspired a whole heap of kids in town. Even the NZ U19s lads want to emulate his hard work. Purely for this reason I'd love to see him do really well. It'll help our town produce even better cricketers in future. I used to coach heaps in the past but of late find no time. Then the kids used to turn up because their parents have the capacity to pay and now I hear the kids turn up because they think it's possible with hard work.
