Pakistan have the advantage of playing a lot of games on the same ground and a lot less travelling. I had them at top 2 a month or so ago, but India finding form and Naseem being out means they're 3 or 4 for me. Australia aren't particularly strong imo, but NZ's bowling attack leaves a bit too much to be desired so I'd say they're still in the top 4. Labu making the squad helps too.

When was the last time NZ failed to make the semis? 2003 I think. They almost always make the last 4 and I don't see that changing. In fact there's more chance of Aus missing out than NZ imo, though Australia are more likely to win the cup than NZ.

NZ is playing at just 6 venues, including
2 @Dharmsala
2 @Chennai
2 @Bengaluru
Back to back matches at the 3 venues above. So a lot less travel and their team hasn't changed a lot from 4 years ago.

Top 4

New Zealand, Bangladesh and South Africa fight for top 4 but fall short

Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Netherlands for the wooden spoon.

Kiwis being underestimated, in Conway, kW and Mitchell they have 3 of the most consistent run scorers around. They are almost garunteed to post a defendable target every game (270), if their bigger hitters can go well to push them above 300 then a lot will depend on Boult carrying their bowling attack.
I'll predict them making the semis as they always do and have had worse teams than this in the past.

Fun fact: Only team to play all world cup semi finals this century is New Zealand

In fact their streak started in 1999.

Sorry they didn't play semi final in 2003. Still they have the longest ongoing streak of playing all semis since 2007 edition.

Cricviz thinks South Africa are 4th, and that NZ are closer to Sri Lanka than they are to the semis. It also gives Afghanistan an above 1% chance of winning which feels like an overrating to me. I could see a Bangladesh win a couple of times in a hundred but would say Afghanistan have a chance that rounds to 0.

India 21.9%
England 17.3%
Australia 15.6%
South Africa 14.1%
Pakistan 11.6%
New Zealand 8.5%
Sri Lanka 6.8%
Bangladesh 2.9%
Afghanistan 1.3%
Netherlands 0%

Yeah. The more I think about it, the more I realise I underestimated them a bit. They have a good start too on paper except England.
