It's hardly an outlandish prediction in the context of these teams playing at this tournament in these conditions. Not sure there are many better. India yes, NZ and England maybe but neither of those teams convince me atm either despite the former's strong showing in one game.

In before LOL CHOKERS, well England were hardly a paragon of tournament consistency until last time out. Things change.

I agree Anderson, Ronchi, and Vettori all failing was a choke in 2015, but how did we choke in 2019 (robbed - or is a freakish deflection off the bat and incorrect umpiring a choke) and T20 (lost the toss in a 'chasing' tournament)?
We hardly choked in the big one in 2021

It's really close for me between Australia and South Africa; but I think Aussies have the edge here. I have no expectations from Pakistan given their recent form and fitness issues; and I am honestly surprised more people aren't picking Kiwis here

I think any of India, England, Pakistan, new Zealand, Australia or South Africa could win tbh. Any combination could be the last 4. Think there's a big gulf between them and Sri Lanka, then the rest.

Well they've played eight world cups before without making the final haven't they?
They've had ATG players like AB de villiers/Klusener/Kallis/Donald /Pollock and yet they haven't cut the mustard so to speak. Why should they now?

Were our expectations that high before the start of the tournament though?
Greatbatch coming off with the bat and Dipak Patel with the ball at the start of the innings were an unknown recipe for success.
The deeper the tournament proceeded obviously hope got very high, but yeah we bottled it in the semi that day, and Inzi punished us.

Yeah they have got the 2 hardest games out the way and through this. They could go on a decent run now and get back towards 4th. England really need to win the next one
