For God's sake, Tendulkar, just go

A real bad article by a pretty well known writer. Yeah, the milestone is affecting his game, but to put down him deciding to play the CB series down to that milestone alone is real daft. The last CB series win ranks along with the World cup win as one of India's biggest ODI series wins since his debut. Jamie Alter would do good to stop acting as if he knows the exact reason why Sachin is playing . Others spoke too soon the last time he went into a slump and we know how he came back. Hoping for more of the same from Sachin.
Over the top article & presumptuous of the author to suggest Tendulkar holds this elusive personal milestone above his teams performance.

What other reason does he have to play this series? Have you ever paused to consider that the guy just might be privy to common human failings like so many of us? He has been more than handsomely compensated over the years for doing something he obviously loves doing. All this talk of selfless service to the nation is so much tosh..not the armed forces for godsakes. Instead of taking umbrage at any conceived slight to your demigod, why not read what the writer is saying?

"When a man chooses not to play one single ODI for almost 11 months, and then suddenly slips back into the format after failing to achieve his goal in Tests, it reeks of selfishness. Tendulkar has become larger than the game, choosing when and where he plays, and that has hurt Indian cricket. "

Agree with the pick and choose part. Noone should be allowed to choose the games he wishes to play. But disagree with everything else in the article.

Is it that easy to score an international hundred so that one can choose matches and score centuries in that?

Couple of years late on the 'its cool to hate Sachin to make myself look intelligent' bandwagon. It just makes you look like Arachnodouche.

Haha. What a load of crap. The CB series win in 2008 was pretty big. This legendary pic was at the felicitation for winning that series after returning to India.

After the WC it is probably the biggest ODI series for India. Could that possibly be his motivation? Just assuming his motivations is pretty poor journalism.

SRT would have played in the England series had he not been injured. He has rightly stopped playing home ODIs so younger players can get chances. had he played in every match since the WC, there would be criticism that he is blocking the place of a youngster.

Maybe he just loves playing cricket?

Though, tbh, its all about money. Tendulkar playing odis = massive $, 100th 100 or not. People want to watch him bat. Its probably hard for him to say no.

Tendulkar was slated to play the ODIs in England, but was injured. He even played the first ODI, IIRC. He has always valued playing in England and Australia.

Arachnodouche needs to learn to draw reasonable conclusions from events, not seek to pervert (incorrect) facts into supporting his transparent agenda.

^ No, he didnt play any ODI in England. Was ruled out because of the toe injury and came back and missed the CLT20 too.
