The Australian public loves a good contest followed by an Australian win. We've gotten neither for a while, we've been simply flogged.

So that's why you gotta seriously question what's going on with Cricket Australia. The ratings were excellent for the 6-1. More weight to that theory, I guess.
LANGER'S EYEING OFF NIELSON'S JOB
CRICKET Australia is facing a difficult call over the immediate future of Test coach Tim Nielsen as rumours emerge of former opener Justin Langer making a pitch for the job.
Under Nielsen's watch, Australia have plummeted from No 1 in the world to No 5, losing two Ashes campaigns, a home series to South Africa and two series in India.
Cricket Australia only recently extended Nielsen's contract for a further two years, but with a record like his, if he was coaching in any of the football codes, he'd be straight out the door.
Cricket Australia spokesman Peter Young insists there is nothing to suggest Nielsen won't see out his contract, but we're hearing otherwise. His failure to get results has created a split amongst the players.
Ricky Ponting is a supporter, but others, including Michael Clarke, want Langer in charge. Langer has let it be known that he is willing to step up from his role as team batting coach.
I had huge respect for JL as a player the grit and determination he showed for his country was exceptional but in the role of a coach he would be nothing short of a disaster. You're only doing that now?!
ITSTL piece from that article. Although given the track record of the media ("Marcus North for captain!") in reporting stories like this, I'm always highly sceptical:
Don't know what to think ITBT. Other than I can't see it helping much.
Jesus is Lord, etc.Hmm, OK then. Will following any betting advice you give from now on then
You're only doing that now?!
brown nose Can't see that going well at all...JL as coach would be an utter disaster.
Despite his tendency to talk absolute fluff and be a brown nose, he's clearly failed as batting coach. Like I've mentioned before, if anything, under Langer, the techniques of a couple of our batsmen have regressed.
The idea that a coach is entirely responsible for international class batsmen regressing is lolworthy.JL as coach would be an utter disaster.

Yes because I said he was entirely responsible I dare say he hasn't caused it, but he's done **** all to solve it. Good batsmen =/ good coachThe idea that a coach is entirely responsible for international class batsmen regressing is lolworthy.
Must explain why our coach and selectors are still thereBit harsh on Langer?? How long has he been in the job? I'm not sure how much blame should be laid at the batting coach, regardless of how much the batting is failing. Its just too easy for people to blame the coach. Im not sold on the idea of JL being any sort of coach yet, but its silly to just tear him a new ass so soon into his job.
