Lol today i was 4 wickets down for no runs and had a guy retired hurt as well.
LOL! What was the result of that match Blaze?

I remember when I had the PlayStation ICC 2001 version and having two runs on the board with four wickets down against Warwickshire in an OD match when I decided to slog at the start of the match - didn't turn into a particularly successful plan.

I always open with one guy I don't really like, or I dont care if he goes out, I slog with him (one short of max) and bat the lowest aggressive level for the other guy. If our run rate falls under 5 I notch up the aggressiveness up one

I generally start OD with both my batsmen on full agression, if i lose 4 wickets before 100 i but it down to 6 bars, and if it gets worse i consolidate, but that doesnt happen often.

As I indicated in my previous post, I used this technique earlier in my ICC days but now I play with a more conservative approach. IMO, as long as you're no more than three wickets down after 30 overs and 125 is on the board, then unless the lower order lets you down, a score in excess of 270 is definitely achievable - I tend to aim for a target around there when batting first, and even when chasing a large score over or around 250.

My team is pretty average so I bat to my strengths.

I will start off batting on about 5 bars and then go from there according to how many wickets I lose. Then with 15 overs to go and wickets in hand I bat on full agression and usually make it to 270+ in 45 over games

sounds a bit like what i do...
when i bat first i start on 5 agg and do that until the are 10 overs left and thats when i go full, i also go full when these scenario's occur..
*25 overs are left and i am 0 wickets down
*20 overs are left and i am 1 wicket down
*15 overs are left and i am 2 wickets down

been doing it for about 3 years without ever changing lol

i think i have posted my tactics before but i generally end up on full agression for 30-35 overs (though i have the batsmen to handle that, not everyone does)

I have varying tactics. Often I will attempt to get off to an awesome start, aggression begins on 6 or 9 bars - if I lose 3 wickets I go to Normal and then if I haven't lost too many wickets by the 30th over, I will put the aggression to 6 bars - then in the last 10 overs I will put aggression full.

Sometimes I will begin on 3 bars, and slowly work my way to 4 bars, then to 6 bars, then to 9 bars.

In this recent ODI, I thought, nothing to lose, might aswell go all out! Pretty pleased with it, my highest ODI score against a non crap team.
