My pick would’ve been
Smith*
Hayden
Lara
Tendulkar
Sangakkara
Kallis
Gilchrist+
Warne
Steyn
Donald
McGrath
A few tough choices. Sehwag or Ponting or Dravid or heck even Waugh could come in and the side wouldn’t lose much. Curtly and Wasim lose practically half their careers and their wicket numbers were too low. Pollock is a serious consideration over Donald, purely because of the tails fragility.
Again with Smith, I think when choosing a team from a time period you really have to look at sample size as well as record, and his record isn’t that ridiculously far ahead to compensate for the smaller sample size imo.
