Shocking!!! How can you say that of India's greatest all-rounder since Kapil? as well as one of the greatest of this era?:Phes on a roll of breaking records , maxium ducks in a series ... etc
That's a tough bunch. Difficult to select a winner! Does "no need!" for India mean AA? Surely there are others who are worthy of a nomination there though not in the great man's class.Originally posted by Neil Pickup
Nominations for an "Agarkar Figure" for each nation:
Australia: Shane Watson (can't think of much else, I know he's only little still!)
England: Rikki Clarke or anyone else Surrey-related
West Indies: Tricky... don't know them well enough
New Zealand: One of the bits-and-pieces A/Rs... Oram? Drum?
Sri Lanka: Russel Arnold
Pakistan: Saleem Elahi
India: No need!
Zimbabwe: Mluleki Nkala
South Africa: Ashwell Prince
Bangladesh: Tushar Imran
Hmmm my version:Originally posted by Neil Pickup

Isn't this award given to current players? Why then did you select Ramps and Hick? Do you still think England might go back to them?Originally posted by Rik

Australia: Some Aussie pick one, I can't be bothered.
England: Mark Ramprakash or Graeme Hick...take your pick...
West Indies: Ganga looks like a good prospect but...Nagamootoo...averaging 50odd with the ball in both Tests and ODIs...
New Zealand: Brooke Walker
Sri Lanka: Russel Arnold/Navid Nawaz (that late cut...ohhh no)
Pakistan: Saleem Elahi
India: No need!
Zimbabwe: Mluleki Nkala/Sean Ervine/Brian Murphy
South Africa: (Damn it used to be Ntini) Ashwell Prince or Adam Bacher.
Bangladesh: Tushar Imran
I know these are crap, just use the good ones...
..or maybe miserably comic or comically miserable...Originally posted by Rik
I dunno if it is or isn't, probably it is. Anyway those 2 are more misery than comedy icons...
Hahahaha. Anyway since your a WIndian who you reccon should be your team's idol?Originally posted by Mr Mxyzptlk
How can you not give the award to Nkala? He's worked so hard for it and thoroughly deserves it! Look at how brilliantly he's plaued!
Fair enough I say.Originally posted by Mr Mxyzptlk
Not Ganga, although alot of people would disagree but look at his last 18 ODI's.
Mat I NO Runs Ave 100 50 0
18 17 1 603 37.68 0 8 2
It has to be Nagamootoo. He picks up many wickets at regional level but is hopeless at international level. He bats pretty well though but he can't even take wickets against Bangladesh!! He deserves the honour!
