30 catches...not too shabby. Shame I had my worst season so far with the ball :(

(bit better with the bat mind)

Dire end to the season.

Personally, the last 2 games can't come and go quickly enough. Hopefully I've done enough personally in my debut season to get on the U19s tour, then we'll see what the new season brings.

Entirely unsure if you noticed, but you hit 146 and Blue was routed by a "novelty XI"...

Yeah, I'd noticed that, obviously pleased with it but we've failed to make a final.

Not a great state of affairs. Though it's been nice to be played in position, even if my bowling isn't being given a chance to develop.

Not really sure it's been as disappointing as you're making out itbt. Tempted to do the FC review tonight and prove why i think this and outline where i think we do need the improvement.

Getting runs in both innings of FC matches would have helped. In OD JMac playing the whole season.

That is all:p

Green FC Review

On the face of it, a disappointing season as we've picked up the spoon. However, for me there have been a lot of encouraging signs.

Firstly, our WDL record this season is a marked improvement on last. I'd prefer to get the 7-11-2 we have this season to the 4-10-4 we did last. This shows that we're much more capable of achieving wins than we were, meaning that we're closer to the rest of the pack than we were. The increase in wins percentage from a very poor 22% to a much more promising 35% shows a large improvement in this area. We've managed to marginally decrease our losses percentage from 55.6% to 55% as well. Obviously 11 is far too many to be losing in a season and the next step will be to make sure we can turn large innings deficits into draws instead of completely capitulating.

Batting wise - Again for me there's been an improvement. Last season we only had 4 players making 1000 runs, which frankly is poor. This season we've increased that number to 5. The major problem for me in our batting lineup has been the lack of a replacement for the inactive Lezama at number 6. We got off to a flyer at the start of the season and then seemed to start dropping games once we began missing Lezama's efforts with the bat as well as the gloves. His replacements in Raftery, Reddlapalli and Dinnen all performed very patchily.

Bowling wise - The averages don't look amazing granted, but once against CW Land has been full of tarmac-ed pitches and only the very best have sub-30 averages. With 4 bowlers taking 50+ wickets, we can say that we at least have a solid bowling attack capable of taking wickets. The bowlers that haven't bowled as much this year have been slightly disappointing when they've had a chance, Jack Mac bowled well in his two games and EAP Mac took a decent 5fer but the others were largely ineffective.

FC batting average of 32 from 7 games, 2 hundreds and just shy of 450 runs isn't too bad.

My problem seems to be that I either get out, or get great scores. My 4 best innings have been 146, 134, 56 and 41 - meaning I've scored less than 100 in my other 10.

Potential's there, I just need to get more starts in more innings.

Basically, you play like someone from Green.

Got a whole lineup that'll hit a load or nothing. Corrin and his 251 (was it not out? can't remember....) a prime example of that last season. Is one of the main reasons we don't bat well in two innings of a match half the time.

Haha :D

Cheers for the season, Greens. Only way from here is up imo (but at the expense of another team, preferably).

My goal for next season is to turn up for the second half of the year. Quite frankly didnt this year, spent ages begging for a game, had a few good knocks then decided to bat like Devon Malcolm.

Just noticed my bowling ended up not too shabby, best ave in green for anyone taking more than 5 wickets.

My goal for next season is to break into the old boys network of this club, so that if I underperform I'll still get picked over a more deserving junior player.

Haha, thought the stats had been updated since I last checked, my outburst might have been a tad premature and petulant.

Have underperformed the last couple of OD rounds, thus dropping my average. Still disappointed not to be playing though.
