The OD installment
N Dravid – Average of 21 at a SR just under 70. Fairly comparable to the rest of the team, part of a middle order that as a whole didn’t fire this season, which made it harder for his rookie year. Ironically scored his highest score for the year in the first game, plenty of potential there, hopefully there will be a bit more experience and consistency in the middle order next season fro him to build innings around.
J Rodgie – Average of 19, SR of 56. Pretty much the same as Dravid, should enjoy club cricket this off season which will help him to build up his OD experience and form part of a more solid middle order next season.
N Scott – Average of 11 at a SR of 59. Big crash after his efforts last season, needs to work hard to find the sort of form he was in last year during the off season, im confident he will be back with a bang next year.
A Lezama – Average of 18 at a SR of 64. Lots of scores in single figures this season, and a few starts, failed to capitalise on his starts though and go on to make big scores. Like Scott needs to work hard over the off season and come back and focus on being the rock in the middle order.
D Dubb-Lynch – Average 22 at a SR of 64. Not a lot of game time this season, showed what he can do with a very solid 40 in the last game of the season against Red though.
M Gaukroger – played one game and got a golden duck. I thought Megan had played more games then that, after her effort in the friendly she probably should have.
R Hing – 6 wickets at 33.67. Probably best not to talk about his batting. Played a second fiddle role to Gundry through most of the season and wasn’t called on a lot with the ball due to Gundry’s good form. Often a little expensive, if he can improve his economy through the off season I’m sure that would improve his chances of more bowling time next season.
B Cunningham – 15 wickets at 31.5. Solid without being spectacular with the ball, poor with the bat. Bryce bowled with good economy but didn’t quite take as many wickets as I’m sure he would have liked. Perhaps either focussing to aggressive wicket taking bowling or more conservative run saving might be worth a try.
R Malone – Average of 43.6 at a SR of 78. Again Rob was a big standout with the bat for Green this year with dominating performances. 6 half centuries with a hundred highlight this. I think he would have done even better if he had not been a little restricted because of the lack of support from the other batsmen, hopefully next season a few more of us will fire more often and leave Rob free to play his natural game.
P Gundry – 27 wickets at 18.85. Greens leading wicket taker this season, took 2 5wi and a 4wi. Bowled superbly this season and hopefully he will improve and bowl with even more venom next season.
K Goughy – 21 wickets at 24.62. Bowled superbly and with good economy, I can only look forward to more super spells from Goughy next season.
A Cameron – Only played the 2 games but failed to take a wicket in either. Really needs to work hard on his OD bowling in the off season to convert his FC success to OD success.
M Mitchell – Only played the 1 game, and took 1/21. Didn’t play a lot of OD cricket this season due to the fairly consistent form of the other bowlers. Hopefully he will have a good off-season and keep improving and force his way into the side next season.
X Rose – 25 wickets at 19.56 and averaged 25 with the bat. Another excellent season from Xavier, bowled very consistently with good economy and strike rates. Also came to the rescue with the bat on more then 1 occasion, could well bat higher up the order next season.
E Volavola – played 2 games and got starts in both, hopefully he will sign up for club cricket and get abit more experience under his belt.
A Garven – Averaged 30 with a SR of 61. I feel like Simon Katich with that SR. solid enough average, slightly boosted by a late season unbeaten hundred, but when you’ve only scored 2 or 3 in over 100 games you have to take them. Very happy with my ER of 3.6 too. Need to work hard to converting starts and upping the tempo in support of Malone at the top of the order.
