The Greatest Overs Ever

Starc's ER is OK compared to the era he bowls. You have to adjust ODI stats, not like in tests. Even then I will wait till his career ends to pass a judgement.

ICC ranking wise there is nothing much between the two. So I'll wait till he retires.

And for the record, Vaas vs Boult

80 matches over 600 vs 250. Still haven't hit a peak like Vaas.

If you don't accept ICC ranking system, then I am fine by it. But what it shows is the consistency of Vaas over a very long time.
400 wickets in 322 matches is 1.25 wickets per match, while 187 in 99 is 1.9.

I know it was not a great over but he was on a hiding to nothing. The momentum had completely shifted, he was asked to bowl like a medium pacer with the keeper standing back. I don't blame the poor guy that he choked.

He really did a shocking job even if he changed his bowling style completely. Like it was a terrible over even by school cricket standards. Hashim Amla would've bowled a better over it was that bad.

Funnily enough his first delivery in which he got Pandya out was a legit left armer dismissal. Don't know why he changed his MO after that. Always stick to your strengths.

I think it's simple pressure got to him even India did not bat well in the last over Pandaya, DK both got out carelessly even Kohli bowled on a free hit he was legit beaten. Its just that we were more terrible.

I was being sarcastic about that phrase that is post facto bandied around as some kind of deep insight. No one held their nerves as such. One team has to inevitably and even by total chance has to win.

Edit: Actually, Ashwin did hold his nerves in the final over.

The craziest thing the last India-Pakistan match did to me is that, for the first and probably the last time, I started viewing the awful godigit ad and Kohli dancing to its tune with a little less contempt.

Kyle Mayers back foot cover punch drive into the 3rd tier earlier in the month would be hard to beat
