Day Four
Phlegm struck twice in early exchanges, a couple of sharp takes from Bharani Dharan allowing the allrounder to see off Smythington-Smythe and Myheart. Dong continued to contribute to the bowling effort, snagging the big wicket of Deen before he could bring up the 300 for the away side. Phlegm and Dharan almost combined again to end the innings on 306, but the wicketkeeper spilled the chance Force gave him. Phlegm instead got through to hit the stumps in his next over - having been under-used due to expense on the third day, the New Zealander finished with 3-48. His team were set 434 to win.
Porterfield would not be playing much of a part, bowled by Myheart for just 1. At the other end Force coaxed an edge out of Teja on 4, but Pickup shelled the chance behind the stumps. Teja would go on to form his partnership with Mork on either side of the lunch break, but Furball was to uproot both before either had turned their stoic hand into fifties. At tea the Irish were 93/3.
Jansen completed a match to forget when he was bowled by a Myheart delivery for 15, and after a promising fifty stand between Phlegm and Joyce, Smythington-Smythe struck to remove both with an hour to go, signalling the beginning of the end for the hosts at 185/6. Dong's hard-hitting half century in the final hour gave the home fans something to cheer, but with 173 runs still to find England will be confident the match is theirs to be won on the final day.

Furball ended Dong's fun almost immediately on the fifth morning, with Wood completing the take at silly mid on. That brought in the new ball bowlers to clean up the tail, and though Dharan was able to raise a professional unbeaten fifty, Force's three meant that England sealed the win within the session.
England won by 89 runs.

Somerset Invitational XI vs Australia XI
County Ground, Taunton
19th - 23rd June
Australia's tour commences with a five-day encounter in Somerset, with the home side bolstered by many of the same international players that turned out in Dublin last week. Slow-left armer George Dockrell will return to Somerset colours for the summer, and the international tour party will all be keen for a second go at the visitors.
The Aussies arrive with a formidable, attacking batting lineup and players like Super, Spark and Loblaw will be keen to take advantage of the mostly inexperienced home attack. In contrast to previous tours of England, Australia have only Suifdadny to call on for outright pace, and will be relying on a battery of spinners to claim their share of the wickets.
However, it will take some hard work for the tourists to force a result here. After conducting themselves well in Ireland, the Invitational XI are also set to welcome the arrival of stoic New Zealand batsman Beegee, and the Australian spin attack will get no aid from the notorious Taunton deck.
Expected sides:
Somerset Invitational XI: Beegee, Mork, Phlegm, Teja, Hildreth, Jansen, Dharan, Dong, Thomas, Dockrell, Overton.
