Perhaps time for Dinu to have a crack?

Our form isn't that woeful for alarm bells, yet. We need to be more consistent for 4 innings, though. We seem to go missing.

Not how to treat a senior bowler Camps. You took the new-ball off me, I bowled decently at first-change, so you drop me. Transfer to another club it is then.

Attn: Blue players.

Please list email addresses that you can be contacted at this season. Of particular importance are the addresses of Fuller, Cloete, Young, Goff, Currie and Cribb. I've temporarily misplaced my email address listing, and I need to contact the masses relatively soonish.

Well after somewhat of an absence, I have returned to Cricketweb and have had a chance to review my performances. I'm actually somewhat shocked to have not been deemed inactive as I was deemed inactive for a much shorter absence last season (and then confirmed activity only a few hours later) but I'm certainly glad it wasn't the case as I'm back now to find I've been in some decent touch.

I haven't had a chance yet to evaluate all the performances of individual players but I have checked all my performances and most importantly, the match results (of the games listed in the quick links thread anyway - Ill check to see if there are more recent ones after this post - so this post is based on the warmups, the first two FC games and the first OD game). I certainly got off to a good start in the FC warmup matches as did the team as a whole - my extremely slow batting even proves frustrating for the opposition when I don't score many, but it must have been torture for the bowlers as I racked up 180 in a big win. I'd like to thank Liam for being given yet another opportunity to impress after a few seasons filled with glimpses but nothing substantial - his patience with me seems to have paid off (although I often score big in warmups and then fail later, so we'll just have to wait and see..).

My good form in the the warmup matches was rewarded with a spot in the starting XI, and although I performed decently and seem to be forming a good partnership with Pete (who is in great form I must add), I slipped into my old habit of doing the hard work and scoring pains-taking forties without going on to make a big score. This was dissapointing as my dismissal sometimes triggered somewhat of a middle order colapse - although the bowling has been the main concern being disgracefully inconsistent. We could have won both of the first two first class matches but lost due to being too patchy - we need to be more ruthless and not let the opposition back into it - particularly myself now that I have some experience under my belt.

The first one dayer proved fruitful for the club, which also points to a possible lack of consistent ruthlessness (if that is indeed a word). Over a shortened timeframe, we didn't really have a chance to blow the game and we won easily in the end as our side is extremely talented. If we can apply this over longer periods and more consistently, we should go a long way in both competitions.

(I'd also like to apologise if there are any typos in that as it's far too long to check over!)

In other news, i'm looking for a batsman to take me under their wing and give me some pointers and help at training. To learn how to defend, and hang around basically... maybe even score a run. Pete? Sean?

I'm now equal with Kennett with the most amount of ducks ever in the dev league....seeing as mine have come f rom 3 and a bit seasons, and his over 10 seasons (?) .... you get the point.

Time to try and hold a bat correctly, I think!

Thoughts?

Cloete and Goff swap and Camps steps up above Crampton.
Any reasoning? Admitedly I have liked batting 3 before but is it just to protect Brendan a bit more?

I think Dinu might be due a run soon.

ok this is pathetic guys.

Nnanden - Pretty poor attitude from you here. No player is bigger than the team. Good riddance I say.

It is a long season, but we have to start showing some improvement now. Personally I have been below par, but would like a crack in a 4day game soon, considering how bad we have been.

We turned it around last year and we will do it again...

welcome back Cribb, Currie.
and Currie, chill out. Nath didn't do any worse than some bowlers in the team. let's see what Dunn can do and decide whether he deserves a spot in the starting XI.

Agreed, poor attitude from Patrick. It's understandable to be disappointed, and it is a harsh call, but leaving a team because you get dropped for one game when you haven't been bowling that well is pretty absurd. Sit it out, take some wickets in grade and get back into the team.

I haven't been in particularly good form with the bat myself, but I'd be happy to help out as needed. We've got the most experienced batting lineup around I'd say, when you include Pete, Clutey, Goff and Camps, so I'm sure we can teach you to play a forward defensive shot.

I dont think Blaze was bagging his performances, just his attidude.

I really like Nath and he has been really supportive of my performances since I arrived, but I'm shocked by his attitude really. He should just cop it on the chin, perform well in grade and prove that he deserves his spot back.

All five of you guys, then. Need to be a bit more reliable than a golden or a two ball duck -every- innings.

Might even be worth giving me a bowl in the next game if things get desperate. I took 2/56 in the warmup match when he was given a bowl (admittedly it was off only 8 overs so I got tonked, but I did take two wickets!) and I just checked my Grade results and I took 8/67 (opening the bowling with leggies too, strangely).

We seem to have plenty of plenty of actual bowlers in the side so if all goes to plan, I wont be needed at all, but if the opposition racks up 500 again (heaven forbid), my form suggests it wouldn't be the worst option in the history of the game.

It was not just the one-off incident. As stated in the 'Trade' thread, I will not be participating for Blue in the near future.

Well then I'd suggest you come on MSN. You won't be traded until we can talk out some matters surrounding your request. Sean (Fuller) and I are online now.
