Great performance in the last game guys, everyone contributed to the win which is what I like to see. The first FC game of the season is tomorrow against Blue at the Pickford Reserve, and the side is likely to be announced sometime soon.

Side for the first FC fixture

Hard to choose a side, we've got so many good options who deserve runs (Meeks especially hard done by, but he'll get his chances) in the side. Arnold has been given a go at the problematic FC opening spot, hopefully he can justify the faith.

Bowlers pretty much pick themselves. Hopefully our backup seamers go great guns in grade and push for spots though. Su a bit stuff but Kev led the 19's well and Patrick picks himself.

:( Patto's out for 7 games, biiiiiig blow. Give's Syed and Fox chances to step up though.

Side for the FC game away to Red

Syed and Donald given their FC debuts as our squad gets stretched to the limit with the Champions Trophy on and Patrick's 7 game injury. Hopefully they can step up and show us what they're made of, especially with the ball as we lacked penetration against Blue (although it was a flat track). Hopefully Gelman can handle the step up the order, pretty confident he can though. Gun player.

Also, would be good if everyone had a peek at the Champions Trophy thread to see how the CWXI is going.

side looks awfully different from the first match, everyones gunna need to get used to playing different roles all the time it seems

Dissapointing result there guys, the bowling is really lacking threat. Batting is shaping up nicely though, with both Donald and Armstrong making their FC maiden centuries, though dissapointing neither could go on with them you can't put down guys for making hundreds.

We have an OD game next up and we'll likely be pushed to the limits again. Hopefully we can come out on top this time around. The side will be announced sometime soon.

Just so you guys know, I've been keeping a tally for a Player of the Season awards thing, with the usual 3, 2 , 1 points system. Blackman will still do the end of season awards, this is just to decide the captains player of the year.

A brutal loss in the last game guys, really gutted we couldn't get over the line in that one. We're struggling at the moment and it was always going to be that way early in the season, with the CT coming up and some early suspensions. Hopefully we can pull through this a better side for the experience. With the addition of Stedman back into the lineup after serving his time on the sideline, we look much stronger and hopefully can put a weakened Red side to the sword.

Is there an echo in here? Feels like I'm talking to myself...

In other news, another gutting loss and I'm getting a little hot under the collar. We really need some bowlers other than Gelman and Richards to stand up and take wickets. Our lack of penetration with the ball has cost us dearly in every match so far this season. Hopefully it turns aorund some time soon, or we could be stuck in quicksand before we find ourselves at full strength again.

Horror start to the season, we really need to pick up our act quickly and before it's too late. Alot of pride and honour on the line here.

Dissapointed with our performance so far, although I'm confident we have the talent to pull out of this slump. Expecting a salary increase for doing both the 12th and 13th man duties in the match against the Blues. The drinks don't just carry themselves you know!
