The Battle of the Englishmen

Just shy of 24 hours & it seems to be pretty conlusive, so I'll gonna call it: 9-2 to Deadly. A suprisingly straightforward win for mine, but that might just be the frustrated seamer in me!

Next up, another real battle of two big guns of English cricket; our best post-war seamer v our best (give or take the odd Boycott) post-war defensive batter.

Battle of the Englishmen: Round1, Battle 9

Ken Barrington
82 tests, 6806 runs @ 58.67 (20 centuries, 35 half-centuries); 29 wickets @ 44.82.

vs

Fred Trueman
67 tests, 981 runs @ 13.81, 307 wickets @ 21.57 (5 wicket innings: 17, 10 wicket matches: 3)

Tough one this, but I'll go for Barrington, both true greats, and deserve to be in the second round, but thats the luck of the draw I guess.
