If I had the power to do it, I don't think I'd permanently change someone's avatar (unless it was Gelman) so I can see why he isn't taking the bet here. Permanent avatar changes are just a bit much IMO, even if you were somehow 100% confident of winning.

I do take avatars more seriously than most people, yes - I might remind you, nonetheless, that you yourself refuse to do avatar bets because Gilchrist is too precious to lose, suggesting you have some decent grasp of the fact that they're not complete trivialities.

Meh, I'm not overly worried about getting into an argument. Just thought I'd bring it up

Also, avatar challenges don't really worry me because I have avatars turned off when I'm on CW, so it makes little difference. But you are right, I chose Gilchrist for a reason and I'm going to stick with him.
