Don't really feel comfortable picking a guy who may not be halfway into his career, still could have a good five years left, but his batting brings something to this side, and his keeping over the past two years has been of a good quality. Take him over Boucher on the strength of his batting.

In terms of variety, I am not sure we need a genuine fifth option, so Waugh could be a good choice to fill in the gaps. Wardle's got both types of spin which is damn handy.

Mohammad Yousuf - I just think this team needs a batsman at 6 who is hungry to bat for long periods. The fact that he averages above 50 (no one else in this team does) and is the record holder for most runs in a calendar year, ought to be selected in this exercise.

Rod Marsh Marsh as a lefty will add some variety to a right handed middle order and he is used to keeping to Thomson. Very difficult choice.
