The ATG World XI's game

Results
Openers - Merchant again finishes in third place, this time behind Mitchell and Simpson who had 9 and 6 votes respectively.

Keeper - Again close. Tallon with 4 votes edges out Waite with 3. I called it now seeing as though I would have went for Tallon anyway if forced in a deadlock.

Spinner - Verity walks this one in. I'm looking forward to seeing the Indian spin pecking order shortly.

World F XI
1. Bruce Mitchell
2. Bob Simpson
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8. Don Tallon+
9. Hedley Verity
10.
11.

Hard to know where Tallon and Verity should be batting at this stage.

International Debutant
Batting votes
3. Charlie Macartney- the only golden age batsman who could rival Trumper in flair and style. Struck at 69 runs per 100 deliveries, which was phenomenal for his era. Sadly, a very underrated batsman.
4. Peter May- a very solid batsman in between two strokemakers, one to base an innings around.
5. Clive Lloyd- dashing left-handed batsman who would most likely captain the side.

Bowling votes
1. Harold Larwood- without a doubt one of the most influential fast bowlers ever. Now makes my all-time XV.
2. Colin Croft- a nut, deadly fast bowler who is vastly underrated.

NUFAN

Y no Afghanistan flag
1 - Kumar Sangakkara, Martin Crowe and Clem Hill
2 - Courtney Walsh and Alec Bedser

Hill's position could have went to about 20 different bats on another day.

Maharaja Kumar Ranjitsinhji really deserves to get in now.

IMO he clearly outperformed all his peers with the bat - both in FC and in test cricket... Invented leg glance and late cut, changed the art of backfoot defense forever, and was a master on slow, low and unpredictable sticky wickets. Those who saw him play were melted in romance...

Ah crap, forgot to do my bowlers.

John Snow

Been on his bandwagon for a while. All the best players of his time respected him greatly.

Ian Bishop

Without injury, who knows what he could have been. With injury, he's still got a darn good record, and was always threatening when on the park.

If Sanga and Walsh don't make it, I'll hurt somebody.
