Unlike Barry Richards and Vijay Merchant, those 3 played good amount of test cricket.

Richards and Merchant were unlucky not to play a significant amount of test cricket.

Probably if someone like Ajinkya Rahane does well in test cricket but not ATG-class, I shall rate him along side Ponsford, Woodfull and Hassett. There is a distinct difference between the 2 scenarios IMO.

Don't think we'd get away with only hving two quicks. If we were selecting a five-man attack with a seam-bowling allrounder to come on at first change I'd be more open to it. With Botham, Dev and Procter still to come I think the next XI ought to manage it.

A fine leader, excellent batsman who can help provide some overs. SJS outlined in that post linked by GI Joe about his performances against good quality sides.

Ken Barrington

Will maintain the push for him, sliding in at 4 and splitting Worrell and Punter. Super average, suited to coming in early if there is a couple of wickets.

Ray Lindwall

Funnily enough, not selecting one of the bowlers who I named as stiff to miss out, maybe just an oversight. With two Test hundreds and an average over 20, and a great bowling record, he creates a very good pace attack in combination with Davidson and Holding, whilst reinforcing the lower order's strength.

Really surprised for the Barrington love considering Boycott is also in the 11 and they were not known for their attacking nature.
