Yes, he has proven himself to be the greatest Pakistan captain since Imran/Javed. Maybe even better.Captaincy skills? lol. His batting record is great too just over a shorter span of time due to such a late start for his test career
Not an absolute lock no, but does tend to get underrated. Funnily enough if you take NZ out of the equation, Zaheer has a better record than Miandad. Zaheer was abysmal vs. NZ while NZ was Javed's favourite opponent IIRC.Is Zaheer Abbas a lock as well?
Pakistan 'A' might look something like this thenCricketweb Pakistan All Time XI

Younis Khan
Javed Miandad
Inzamam-ul-Haq
Mushtaq Mohammad
Imran Khan *
Rashid Latif +
Wasim Akram
Fazal Mahmood
Waqar Younis
Mohammad Yousuf
Saqlain Mushtaq
Rashid Latif instead of Wasim Bari & I'd have the same side.Hanif Mohammad
Saeed Anwar
Younis Khan
Javed Miandad
Inzamam-ul-Haq
Mushtaq Mohammad
Imran Khan
Wasim Akram
Wasim Bari
Saqlain Mushtaq
Waqar Younis
Off the top of my head. Not sold on Mushtaq Mohammad. But they need a 5th bowler and none of the top 5 batsmen bowled much.
How about Asif Iqbal?
And can we improve on the spinner?
In 198 Test innings Inzamam batted 12 times at No.3 and averaged 25 runs. Definitely not a new ball batsman.Anyone not placing Sarfraz in their first XI is losing credibility.
Who is better at 3, Inzi or Younis?
Nah. I love Misbah, and Inzy had the unfortunate habit of failing every time I watched him.. but nah. It'd be a more interesting case to make if the team lacked a good captain, but it has Imran already so it's not really lacking in that department enough to make Misbah's captaincy worth heaps. Now wondering whether Misbah-ul-Haq has done enough to take Inzamam's position at No.5 in Pakistan's ATG side?
