Yep, looks pretty strange doesn't it. Misbah would surely be a candidate to captain an all-time Pakistan B team though.

Yes, he has proven himself to be the greatest Pakistan captain since Imran/Javed. Maybe even better.

Is Zaheer Abbas a lock as well? I know he would be for the ODI team but I feel any 2 of Inzy/Yousuf/Younus deserve it more based on their test batting records


Unless you consider him a specialist 3 and are going for that route

Not an absolute lock no, but does tend to get underrated. Funnily enough if you take NZ out of the equation, Zaheer has a better record than Miandad. Zaheer was abysmal vs. NZ while NZ was Javed's favourite opponent IIRC.

Rashid Latif instead of Wasim Bari & I'd have the same side.

Yeah Younis has 13 Test tons at and averages 51 at three. He's been at four more recently but he spent half his career at three and was more than fine. Inzi was much more comfortable lower down.

In 198 Test innings Inzamam batted 12 times at No.3 and averaged 25 runs. Definitely not a new ball batsman.

On-the-other- hand, I don't think that Pakistan has had a better or more determined batsman than Younis Khan in that position.

Nah. I love Misbah, and Inzy had the unfortunate habit of failing every time I watched him.. but nah. It'd be a more interesting case to make if the team lacked a good captain, but it has Imran already so it's not really lacking in that department enough to make Misbah's captaincy worth heaps.
