The post 70s 2nd XI is quite incredible. Pre 70s is incredible too. I'd drop Ramadin and play Roy Gilchrist.

I literally considered him but was hesitant to include such a volatile unruly player. The guy used to deliberately bowl beamers. Not cool !!

AT XIs aside, what do you guys think is the strongest xi to actually have taken the field?
For me on paper probably the Aus team 1st test in India in 2001:

Slayer
Hayden
Langer
Waugh M
Waugh S*
Ponting
Gilchrist +
Warne
Gillespie
Fleming
McGrath

Yeah its probably between early 00’s Aus vs Windies, with the invincibles likely 3rd.

Batting comes out roughly equal (slight edge to Aus imo), but Gilchrist vs Murray as keeper/batsmen is a huge difference. Windies have a higher quality of bowling overall, but Warne being an ATG spinner vs Windies having 0 specialist spinners evens the field somewhat.

tldr: Gilchrist makes it Australia

neither team has an all rounder that will bowl but Gilchrist is an all rounder that can keep no wonder he is the difference as said
