Best Asian side. Miandad can sit this one out, primarily because I don't like him. Sanga and Shakib unlucky not to get in there.
His personality seems perfectly fine to me. In fact I moulded my own part based on hisYuvraj ahead of Shakib is an interesting one. Seems like Shakib would be a straight forward superior option. Unless personality comes into it.
Dippenaar was instrumental in RSA chasing down 435 tbf.Dippenaar/Mckenzie from my memory lost them a lot of matches.
By getting out in the first over i supposeDippenaar was instrumental in RSA chasing down 435 tbf.
Yes Zaheer Abbas is absolute legend of the limited over game. Should be in there.I loved Aravinda, but that side needs Zaheer Abbas
Late 90s SA with Australia's top order, or even India's, would have been unbeatableOld South Africa chasing totals was weird af. Even with a small total, they would bat the first 20 overs at snail pace, bring all the pressure in the world on them selves and try finish the innings with their all rounders when the required rate is around 9. Pretends to be shocked as well when they fail

Late 90s SA were already virtually unbeatable. It was a huge upset that Australia beat them in the 1999 world cup and then tied them to move into the final. Their batting was stronger than it appears on paper because 90s batting averages were depressed across the world due to all the great bowling and good conditions for bowling. The fact that Tendulkar and Bevan were so very dominant during this era was testament to their greatness.Late 90s SA with Australia's top order, or even India's, would have been unbeatable

If we're talking tests, even there the South African batting was quite strong for the era. Especially when you take into account that they played half their tests in South Africa. I don't think it's fair to say that because they weren't as good as Australia they were not good. They would probably have ended up getting to number 1 for a time if it wasn't for Cronje's greed. The only thing they lacked was a batting superstar.
So good, not a single Pommy in that side. Rightly so too.

As like for like as I could get. Saeed over Javed coz I feel that role can be played by MSD anyways. Needed a leftie in the middle order so Yuvi gets in. Shakib can bat as a floater in that line up and be used as an insurance in case of a collapse. Ideally he would bat 5 if things go well and handle the spinners in the middle overs. Also ensures there are 6 decent options and 2 good part timers to cover the bowling. Won't be too perturbed if Imran gets in ahead of Shakib coz you still get the same bowling options in terms of spin but with an added seamer but there are a lot of times when 4 seamers in ODIs are overkill.
For the Rest of the World side, the sheer quality of having ATGs in both formats in the top 3 has to be amazing. Kluesener and Pollock play as the allrounders as I feel they are still better than Stokes and Flintoff in those roles and given where you would need them to bat. Starc for the variety and Garner is a no-brainer in these ODI sides. Its almost blasphemous to leave out McGrath and Ambrose but if I was picking an actual XI and wanted a certain balance, I think I would compromise on the 1 or 2 run bowling averages and play this side.
This is very much true. And Kallis was a big part of it. Bad ODI player.Old South Africa chasing totals was weird af.
