The 4th Greatest Wicket keeper Batsman?

IMO the top 3 all time wicket keeper batters are:-
1. Adam Gilchrist
2. Kumar Sangakkara
3. Allan Knott
(You could argue against it if you disagree)

So, who is the 4th greatest wicket keeper batter? Is it Flower? Is it Ames? is it Watling?or is it someone like kirmani or engineer? Is Watling close to the other two mentioned?

Personally wouldn't rate Watling so high and think I would put him somewhere close to Dhoni.

As only a pure wicket keeper better, is Sanga 2nd? Because his batting went down massively while keeping + he only kept in a minority part of his career. As good a batsman as he was, it doesn't feel right keeping him in second

Valid point. But sanga's average while keeping was 40, where Knott's career batting average was 32.8. Don't think he is much better better with the bat while keeping.

Watling played in comparatively high scoring matches and had plenty reliable sub 28 averaging bowlers in his own team.

And really, nobody advocating for kirmani or engineer? TG Evans could be a shout too.

I don't think his wicket keeping was good enough to exceed Flower's batting. My guy couldn't perform against Bangladesh at home.

Probably not, but I think he's probably the best batsman to have kept-wicket regularly since Gilchrist.
