Well Kobe and the Lakers choked, simple as that. They were leading 3-1, and should've closed out the series. What happened to that Lakers mystique? What happened to the Zen Master? Anyway, kudos to the Suns for coming back like that!

Well, I dont think they choked, Suns are the better team. Besides, I have always maintained that Kobe alone cant ein games.

What if it was a game of one-on-one?

Think about it.

Suns didn't win this game, Lakers lost it. Look at Kobes total FG attempted in the game, and in the second half and you will know why Lakers lost.

They chocked because they were up 3-1 in the series and couldn't close it out. I think the Suns were better, but if you're up 3-1 in the NBA, a playoff team SHOULD be able to win the series. Considering the fact that the Lakers have arguably the best player in the game, and one of the top 3 coaches, they should have won being up 3-1. So that's why I think they choked.

his support cast couldn't keep up...that was the problem....next year will be the same thing all over again unless they bring in better players around bryant and odom...brown, mimh, walton, george, parker are all good reserve players and can give you quality minutes coming off the bench but i don't think any of them will make the starting 5 of a championship-calibre team(unless you have say, 3 great players and can carry an average 2) and that's what kobe and jackson and the franchise wants...well they have kobe(great) and lamar(very good) now, they have a bit of work plugging the other holes, i'd say....

Dude Lakers lost the previous game when Kobe scored 50 points. No one is doubting Kobe but He cant win on his own. So it didnt matter how many goals he attempted. Lakers lost by 31 points. Kobe wouldn't have been able to save it by himself, period.

Lakers won 3 games without Kobe and your going to forget the rest of the wins he got the team during the regular season?

The Suns were better than the Lakers, quite simple. I'm a Lakers fan and even I accepted that. Yeah it's pretty pathetic to lose after being up 3-1, but there are plenty of reasons for it. Fighters like Nash and Barbosa ... the extreme Lakers inexperience (apart from Kobe) ... Kobe's support cast melting when it mattered most. This shouldn't take anything away from Phil's legacy though, still far and away the greatest basketball coach of the modern era. Can't believe the Clippers are in the second round instead of the Lakers ...

Well my Mavs lost Game 1. :( I'm really disapointed because we should've won that game, considering we were rested and the Spurs were coming off a grueling series. But what a battle that was! It was played close all game (no team had a double digit lead at any time). I expect the rest of the games to be similar. I believe this is NBA at its best.

don't worry...this is going to go down to the wire....i just hope whoever is the winner doesn't get so exhausted that they will end up losing the finals to the clippers(who i am predicting will make the finals:) )....

It is better if they lose here, else pistons will humilate them in the finals. All at a sudden they look pathetic and one man team.

Well it's about 11 min to go in the 4th, and Pistons lead the Cavs 80-61. This after humiliating them in Game 1. You know, King James will eventually take over the NBA and win plenty of titles, but right now he is being schooled.

King James wont win a championship with Cleaveland (Hey we live in Pittsburgh and we know them much better than anyone else:cool: )

And congratulations on your blowout win. As i said Mavs look better than Spurs and spurs are lucky that they are not 0-2.

Well thank you! But I think you underestimate the Spurs. Until the Mavs actually win the series, I will continue to think the Spurs are better. But that win yesterday sure did feel good! :)

poppovich needs to come up with a scheme to stop the mav's lane penetration, they were getting into the paint almost at will yesterday and the spurs' vaunted defense looked tired and listless...in any case, either team don't look likely to stop the pistons right now....:@
