ok then by vox populi i take R Ashwin to spin it the other way at 1226 (which is the live run count from the windies test)

it seems that he was taken, gee shady that was a strange way of spelling Lance Klusener, another who had an average above 50 where i am putting him, for 1906

here comes the worst ace in the hole you'll ever see in a draft, when you have allrounders out the wazoo... Michael Bevan at 785

was waiting for this question

it's all to do with averages

klusener has an average of 50 at 7 but like 20 at 8, etc.

if anything i could go botham to 5, bevan up to 6, or just put bevan straight in to 5, but then i have a need for a number 8, and with all my runs left i'm not going to take another eight when i have massive bowling depth already.

plus bevan would have a license to do whatever he wants in the test arena since he probably has seven hundred runs on the board already and another one hundred to come from those below him

Na, you can't just use what he averaged at a position to justify batting him that low. Batting Bevan anywhere below 6 is a total waste.

Bevo was a great FC 3-5 for NSW. He may not have shown it in his opportunities at test level. But to put him at 8 is embarrassing I think for a guy with his amount of skill.
