Test Cricket Draft

The normal awards that everyone else has
There are two players I am considering, and I really want one or the other. There are two people who are due to select before me.

What's the chance I'll miss both?

Surely not.

It's much better randomised every odd numbered round IMO, keeps things fresh and the people who are at the ends of the list don't have to wait two or three days between picks

I'm closer to the end of the list and you don't see me complaining itbt. It's the same thing anyway. If you're first in one round, you'll be last in the next one. Re-randomizing changes the odds and makes it more uneven imo.

I thought everyone agreed on randomizing every odd numbered round.

There is still time for the 3rd round to start so if someone has an issue with randomizing every odd numbered round, say it now. The other option is ofcourse just to keep reversing the existing order.

It's been about 9 hours and Somerset hasn't selected. I'm not sure whether we were using 6 hours or 12 hours as the time-frame. I think I'm going to be offline for the rest of the day.

I'm going to take Andy Roberts.

And if Somerset really wanted Andy Roberts, I'll take Dale Steyn instead.

And what do you need to bowl them out for under 150? :D
Balance is the key.

While it is true that there is no point in having a line-up of the best ATG batsman if you have to choose a pair of Dwarfs with arthritis to open the bowling; it is also true that there is little point in having a bowling attack of the best ATGs if you have little choice but to select a couple of blind amputees to open the batting.

That's true and well, obvious. And that brings us to the depth of both bowlers and batsmen in thi draft. All the top bowlers have gone think and fast and rightly so, coz after a few names the drop in quality is enormous. While even of you don't get Sachin or Lara, with a great bowling line up you can still have really good batsmen to make more than enough score that will be defended by your bowlers.

Right now almost all the top names I can think of are over. After a couple of names people will really struggle to get quality pacemen.

Yeh, the small pool means most of the high quality quicks will be gone at the end of this round.
